Hi, i was playing JA and suddenly i came up with this idea... What if there wasnt sabers, just hand to hand combat, kung fu style  ... And instead of saber styles, fighting styles, like praiyn-mantis, tiger, monkey etc it would be very nice, dont you think I know nothing about modelling, skinning etc I dont even know if thats possible My job would be providing the info on the fighting styles (i know kung fu =D) So if anyone is interested, mail me, or call me at msn messenger (email@example.com) Or else just tell me that is impossible :naughty: .... (hey you maybe saw this post on skinning forums, i just thought this would be a better place :fistpunch: )

There is hand to hand combat included in OJP Enhanced. It's used mainly when your saber is knocked out of your hand.
JKA's melee mode sucks. I currently have a rough version of a martial arts mod called "WB Academy: Fists of Fury" over at http://www.pcgamemods.com/3353/
I'm currently tinkering with animations to make them look a bit better. Since a 'fist' is really a 'saber' (you'll understand) it'll be possible to have uniquie styles in the same mod, i.e. speed, damage, knockback, startup animations, alt attack, etc.
I figued that I'm sick of waiting for someone else to make it for me... :smokin:
Hey ur mod is very nice, with a little bit of work (i think) you can make it perfect, i like it sure have a lot of bugs  Keep up the good work, if u want any help mail me... ill do what i can
Yea. I'm gonna release another weapons pack in a few weeks (mixing my stuff with the Melee Mod's) and after that I'm focusing on hand-to-hand stuff before working on any TC mods.
I want to be like the Admins

heh maybe someone should make a mod that adds matrix style fighting and replaces the default binds for force powers...would be awesome...
F1. closed fist hit with knockback F2. open fist hit with knockback F3. closed fist hit with superk knockback F4. defending opposing hits with a open fist F5. kick, player rotates F6. kick in straight direction F7. kick towards the ground (in case the opposing player falls on the ground) F8. charged attack that lifts opposing player in the air (very high), attack done with closed fist (much like the hando-ken or watever attacks in i forgot which video game) F9. flying kick that makes person rotate while kicking in a straight line F10. charging kick, player charges at a target, jumps, and kicks ( if its possible the charging at a target part would be as long as the key is pressed, once its released character jumps and kicks) F11. stick hand out and block any incoming objects (lasers, bowcaster, or any other stuff that could be made up) F12. fly off the ground (kinda like jetpack, but no special requirements like energy and stuff)
and all the weapons be replaced with the 21st century weapons, and the stuff the weapons fire be replaces with bullets, with the right size and stuff
that would make a good mod i think, might as well make a new gametype...
We've already got a Matrix Mod in progress, though I don't know what thier plans for Martial Arts would be. My trick is that, at this point I don't want to replace any of the code JKA stuff... yet. What I can do is this. Each 'fist style' can have:
- Different Offensinve (damage speed and knockback) values. - Different Defensive (blocking rate, area) values. - Different sounds (but I'll be too lazy to add that in...) - Diferent Startup ('ie drawing') and relaxing animations, so you know they style you're up against. - Different Special moves (ie the spin kick).
Now one thing that's easy to forget but is super cool is that you can have a different fist style for each hand. so for example you left hand could be high on defense and your right high on attack, making you usialy lead with the left shoulder... blah blah blah... strategy.
I'm mainly doing this for my Blade Mod, so don't expect any super duper changes like the Max Payne Kung Fu mod. I'm not going to bother asking for help unless I have something solid to show for it.
Yeah, thas cool too, but its not what i had in mind... If only i knew how to mod.... Would someone teach me? =)
Well, a lot of the stuff you'll have to learn on your own, but the first step is realizing that a .pk3 file is just a .zip file. Grab a weapons mod you like, open in up and take a peek.
