I was wondering how can I make moving md3 model.

I saw something in JA SP (t1_rail) cinematic:

Space ship (md3) arrives Troops are jumping on train Space ship (md3) flies away

And how can I make this?

I think this has been covered before but basically you can specify a model2 key on a func_static and that model will be drawn around the func_static in-game. Or you can make a misc_model and target it towards a func_static. This also works for func_doors etc. Once you target a misc_model at something it becomes part of that entity meaning if that entity moves, so does that.

Moving the func_static (using script) would then lead to the model moving.

***An example of a model as part of a func_door can be found in SGEgyptJA (my map :)) The doors on the ha'tak (big ship, get up to it via rings) are actually models.***

So can I make this?

Making brush textured with system/origin

Making from it func_train

Making misc_model

Ctrl+K it with func_train

Adding patch_corners

And would model move?

Make an 8x8 clip brush (system/clip), then make an 8x8 origin brush and func_train them together. You MUST have at least one brush in that func_train that has no origin texture on it or you'll just get an error.

Now make a misc_model and target it towards the func_train.

Set up the train to move around and the model will move with it.

You basically got it right before just missed that crucial first point about the origin texture.

tFighterPilot that means yes, it would work :p

Okay. I will try it when i come back from school. And how about camera that flies with func_train? Can I assign ref_tag to func_train?

You'd have to script a camera to follow a func_train, and that's a camera not a misc_portal_camera - although I haven't tried those so it could work lol.

WadeV1589and that's a camera not a misc_portal_camera[/QUOTE]

What is misc_portal_camera? I'm using only ref_tags and scripts to make an cutscene...

Yeah the entire FN is still down. And a misc_portal_camera allows you to make those view screens in-game, I forgot you were doing a cutscene so don't worry about it :)
