How would I go about apply a chrome or reflective shader to only certain portions of a texture not the whole thing.

Meaning let say I got a model and like the tavion model from JA..and I want to make the sholder pads metalic with a reflection but not the rest of the torso.

ok, I know very little but I do know this. You will need small prgram called pakscape (run a search with google) then you must open up your assets1.pk3 and then have a look at the shader file. You will more than likely find that you cant open the .shader files. You need a program called shader editer2 or something, someone will know what I am talkign about and give you the right name, but you just run a google search on this to.

Shaders files can be opened by ShaderEd, a program included in the SDK (software developement kit) for JK2. But if you want to edit them you can open them with notepad. If you want to apply a chrome effect this is a hint: look for the chrometrooper skin file in JK2files and open the shader file in the PK3. Now Change the paths of the skin files (i.e.: models\players\chrometrooper\accessories.jpg) with the name of the skin part you want with the chrome effect (i.e.: models\players\youmodel\inexampletorso.jpg). If you have any question, just reply. :D I hope I was useful...
