I have reskinned the xwing with 2 new skins, one for Blue 3 and one for Red/Rogue leader, i can view fine in modview but does anyone know how to view them in game without making brand new vehicles? Any console command to chnage the vehicle skins?

Nope, no console commands. You have to put those textures in a new.pk3 file. Inside that file, you move your new textures into the same folder as the original XWing. Be warned that this will affect some of the ships in KOTOR Flight school... OTHER then the X-Wing.

so i need to wipe over my old files? ie replace the normal colors with my modified ones?

Place it in a well-named pk3 file for easy removal. Yes.

Or you can make new vehicles (copy the .npc and .veh and give them a different name, and different settings)

I might make into individual vehicles eventually, but then i can see maps having 16 different variants of xwing :\ (not very realistic)

i was just making the point that nobody wants 16 different x-wings cluttering up there base folder, then when you add in other vehicles that need it people wouldn't be too happy :). Anyway i have posted it onto pcgamemods.com

Besides, unless you have a special mod, you can only have 12.

Exactly, do you know how the swoop bike changes colors when you spawn? Its not always the same one, just an observation :0
