hi guys ive been making a few skins for me and my friends, but now they are wanting better and better skins, and it would be alot easyer to do them if i could model them a bit instead of having to use existing models and try to paint the right textures on them :uhm: so, i am asking, is there a way to change a model without actually having a modeling program? like say if i wanted to take a stormtrooper and pop his head off, and put a jedi head in its place, could i do that without a modeling program? any feedback on this will be greatly appreciated thanks :D

in order to put a jedi head on a stormtrooper body, your going to need a modeling program...sorry, but yeah that's what you need, i suggest checking www.lucasforums.com because more modelers hang out there than here

and lordmoose, skinning programs cost money, he can't just give it to you. if he does, then thats illegal...sorry to burst your bubble...

well i opened up the model.glm with notepad and i found a whole bunch of weird lookin symbols and stuff, but it just looks like a complicated skin file to me, couldnt i just replace the strings that point to the stormtrooper head with the strings that point to the jedi head? probly wont work but just an idea, i dont really want to have to go get a modeling program and try to make sense of it too...
