I know how to do sun entities, but when I make my light and my info_null and press control+k to connect them it justs makes the beeping noise that you hear when you save the map, but it does nothing. Any clues as to why the light won't connect to the info_null or better yet a way to fix it, because I'm nearing the completion of one of my maps and I need this sun entity. puppyeyes: :clueless: :bows:

Deselect everything first, press Esc. Select the light, then the info_null...if you don't deselect everything first or you don't select the info_null straight after the light entity it will beep. It does work fine though.

If all else fails, select the light, type a key/value of target/spotlight01. Then select the info_null and type a key/value of targetname/spotlight01. Basically the manual way of Ctrl-K'ing (and don't forget to use a unique name each time, for example increment the ending so your next one would be spotlight02).

The Control+K problem is over but neither the spotlight nor the sun will appear when I bsp and play my map. Any thoughts?

You have to bsp and light, not just BSP

I mean I do the the BSPFinal and everything after I save the map with the newly added lights.

So to sum it up my problem is that now I don't have as great an understanding of the specifics of sun entities as I thought I did, and will require greater instruction.

Try "info_notnull"

(When I'm using notnull, it works)

Can anyone tell me what is a difference between null and notnull??

null is removed from the BSP so does not add to the entity count in-game, you should always use them for lights.

yes info null is better for ordinary spotlights and stuff.. and btw ive been mapping JA for a while now an im workin on an sp map rite now and can som1 tell me how 2 set VKothos and DKothos leader? i tried the SET_LEADER command and i put targetname leader for a reborn master and i put SET_LEADER leader.. so when i tested it the reborn master wasnt even there, i realised this was becuz i used targetname which makes it have 2 have a spawner. so i did that, i put a trigger_once right infront of the door leading to that room and he spawned but the Kothos twins didnt do anything the entity bar said like healing their leader and stuff.. so can sum1 tell me, do i have 2 use targetname for the rebornmaster? thnx in advance
