When i test my maps all the textures are tiny and my maps look very poor Help please?!?!
Please tell me, do you know how to rotate/scale textures? And how new are you at mapping? It sounds like you need some practice.
I've been mapping for about 5 weeks and i know how to rotate but not scale textures i'm sorry but i'm fairly new and have to refer to a manual alot to help me
There's your problem. Just hold control while pressing the up and down arrow keys to scale.
i mean when i make the maps they look right, but when i test them they are all tiny, are u sure it's the scaling and rotating?
Reasonably. But there is a slight chance that something is screwy with JK.
so how do i deal with it? do i put my map into a folder and reinstall jk. and can u go through the rotating and scaling thing again because i think i am getting a bit confused? cheers moberemk!
I didn't make it!
"but when i test them they are all tiny, are u sure it's the scaling and rotating?"
I think we have a better thread somewhere about it (search) but if your textures are scaled wrongly in-game after compiling it then there is a path problem and the compiler isn't finding the textures/shaders during compile. Post your compile log.
Yeah, I agree with him here. Maybe you set this stuff wrong. But, just as a reminder, scaleing and rotateing. Scale=control+up/down/left/right rotate=shift+pageup/pagedown
well.. i had same problem once but its soluced now... plz be carefull with this if u are new its the path in compiling during it fx. "C:/Program Files/GTK Radient .13/q3map2" -v # -game ja -fs_basepath "C:/Program Files/GameData/" -bsp -meta $
well now this one is very special becuase i made the path myself heres a more normal one
"C:/Program Files/Lucas Arts/Star Wars Jedi Knight III Jedi Academy/GTK Radient .13/q3map2" -v # -game ja -fs_basepath "C:/Program Files/Lucas Arts/Star Wars Jedi Knight III Jedi Academy/GameData/" -bsp -meta $
ok now go into file > project settings now u see all the compile orders press the one called -BSP -meta... now press on it and then press "change" now u can change it (the path) but only change the C:/..//gamedata places so if ures was set first up to program files but u moved it to games then make it like this:
"C:/Games/Lucas Arts/Star Wars Jedi Knight III Jedi Academy/GTK Radient .13/q3map2" -v # -game ja -fs_basepath "C:/Games/Lucas Arts/Star Wars Jedi Knight III Jedi Academy/GameData/" -bsp -meta $
note: never enter /base itll find that from gamedata if u enter /base it will use a path like /base/base...
this has nothin to do with the texture itself as Wade said...
