Slightly cooler than a n00b

I'm trying to make some "vacuum tubes" in a map, i.e., there are entrance/exit tube ends in a room, and the tubes go to another room.
So you jump into one tube, and whoosh! You're sucked through into the other room. Once there, jump into the other tube, and whoosh! sucked back.
I've already built the tubes; now I gotta figure out how to move the player. I'm guessing it's a series of trigger/push and target/push entities at key junctures. For the most part, they work, but on occasion, my player gets "stuck" in the trigger. It's basically a brush that is angled at a corner where two tubes meet (90-degree angle turns), and the idea is the character "bounces" off the trigger and keeps going. Trouble is, sometimes he hits it and just gets "stuck." He can't move.
Any thoughts, or does anyone know of any tutorials on this, or a better way to make this effect?
