We are a 24/7 public server open to any player. Not only do we want to reach as many players as possible, but we also want them to have the most enjoyable experience while connected to our server. We like the features of the duelers mod so far, but in order to run it on our server, the following issues must be fixed:

1. CVars need to be implemented to DISABLE jetpack/grapple completely in duels

2. Admin should be able to rename players to ANYTHING not just PADAWAN

3. Saber throw bug is a big problem.

4. An admin frozen person can still be force attacked.

5. Server must print HEALTH/SHIELDS to ALL players, not just the duel partners.

6. Bug MUST be fixed where clients are booted/receive errors when someone switches between thedestroyer, twosaber, and regular sabers

7. Player names NEED to be colorized when clients are targeted

8. Didn't have a chance to find out about the server logging features, but logs MUST be kept and updated by the mod of all console activity.

This is really a forward, not a post from Daelina, so everything I say in this post I am actually talking to Dark.

This is implemented, always has been. The manual says...

All you had to do is search for grapple on the CVars section of the manual. Read the manual please, it's there for a reason.

I can't imagine that this is really that big of a problem. If you are an admin you can change their name & if they change it back to whatever is not allowed they should be booted. if they persist, ban them. There is a new ban code that allows you to ban up to 1024 IPs & until Mike (JA coder) releases the new JA, Duelers is the only mod you can do this with so far. Maybe Razorace (MotF coder) will be adding this but he hasn't said anything about it to me.

In any event, this would be a nice feature but I would bet an even amount of money that Lee will tell you "I have bigger fish to fry". Right now we are more concerned with the bigger on-going problems such as...

Lee did try to remedy this bug, we thought it was fixed, I'm sure he will keep up the good work & find a way to eliminate this problem.

FYI, Ravensoft fixed this problem in the base game, however, they did not fix it in the source code (which all mods are made from), so unless you are planning on running a "base" game server, you will run into this problem no matter what mod you use.

I am sure Lee will have this fixed in the next release.

FYI, this is another one of those options you only get with Duelers. Mike is planning on adding this to the next version of JA, but until then, Duelers is it, so if you like the additional admin options it's us or nothing for the time being. We appologize about the inconvenience but Lee can only fix what he knows about, checkout the beta section to help us out with beta testing so hopefully we will be able to eliminate all bugs in the mod before the release. I know Daelina does a ton of testing & helps Lee track down a variety of bugs.

Been there, has been since at least 1.1.

Again, read the manual please. Duelers Full will have server presets with descriptions of each CVar right next to where each CVar is set, this way it's a bit easier to use, but the Basic's way of explaining things are not difficult, it's all of a 10 minute read.

I believe this error is from not having the client end of the mod, are you running the server pure?

I see this happen alot to players who play on DS Duelers West which is an unpure server. They were running a beta of 1.2.1 but there were a variety of different 1.2.1's out there so that really complicated things. I am planning on doing some purity testing with 1.2.1 tomorrow to decide whether or not I will be using 1.2.1 or 1.2 for Duelers Full, I am hoping to use 1.2.1, but I will post the outcome either way tomorrow.

Umm... Why? Don't get me wrong, it sounds like a good idea, but I just do not see why you *need* to have this, especially considering no other mod does.

I don't interact much with the whole logging thing, so this one is totally up to Lee to answer.

I later found out that they may be force attacked, but they can not take any damage, unless you force grip them off a cliff or something.

Lastly, I just did some testing with purity with 1.2.1, it works great. Good job Lee.

I disagree as this leads to abuse by admins... if name is in-appropriate (and this is what the admin command is for) then Padawan will do just nicely.

show me. I can;t fix it if someone does not describe the problem and provide a way to reproduce it in the development environment....

but not damaged by the attack. In any case I have updated this in 1.3 and force powers cannot be used on frozen players... they are almost like they were in the tzone.... but no quite ;-)

read the manual again..... particuarly m_dsl (duel stat limit)

fixed in 1.3 along with much improved handling of checking saber stances and configs at all times. This includes when the server changes configuration while players connected.

really, they NEED to be? LOL. In any case, i had a request for that from a clan that is actually using the mod.... and I thought it would be cool. But only for non-team gamestypes.

Well 1.3 does log admin commands (at request of another clan actually using the mod). However it does not log all *console* commands. And if this is a MUST then I dunno how they play today.... *is* there a mod that does this?????

Here's hoping that they actually want to play this mod and don't just want to throw up more reasons for why they don't like it... good luck!
