First bug

During the normal style and leave 2 sabers only to the orange and purple.

1 saber cant go to the orange and purple. Ok now go 1 saber and red stance for expample. Then during the DFA you can switch to 2 saber style during it. Making your move do more damages.

Sacond bug is a deadly one. If i say i can kill ppls during i am in spectator ?

Stealing saber from player in game ?

( Isnt only a duelers bug but a JK++ bug to )

I believe the spectator is either a jk2 base bug, or a admin mod bug. Although it's lots of fun.;)

OK, changing sabers can be adjusted to disallow changes during the execution of special attacks. This is a simple code change.

The specator bug is, in fact, a basejk bug. More accurately, it is a bug in the source distribution from Raven and does not seem to actually happen with the binary 1.04 versions. I have tracked the bug down and fixed it. The bug will be in any other mod unless it is fixed. I have confirmed it is present in adminmod, jediplus, and jedimod.

If any other modder's are interested, change the following code segment in g_main.c, G_RunFrame

if((!level.intermissiontime)&&!(ent->client->ps.pm_flags&PMF_FOLLOW))

to

if((!level.intermissiontime)&&!(ent->client->sess.sessionTeam == TEAM_SPECTATOR))

The problem is that when someone spectates and follows some of your data pointers are changed to point at data from the client you are following. These data pointers remain once you cease following. But now, the game code starts updating that data (this is the bug in the code above). In particular, one thing that is updated is the "return" position of the saber of the player that you followed. It's return position is set to the current location of the spectator, so when the saber is thrown, it returns to the wrong player!

For some fun, capture someones saber this way. Then move back over to their position (while you are still spectating) and give it back to them! :eek:

We will post a maintenance release of duelers 1.2 (1.2.1) with these bug fixes in a week or so, allowing some time for other discoveries. In the meanwhile, keep reporting anything you find!

Thanks!

Lee

this could just be me and my inability to read directions, but all the saber hilts are non-textured for me

so i see the model, but not the testure, so i have this rod of no-texture texture in my hand

my error, or incompleteness of mod?

probably my error :uhm:

I have seen this with non-dedicated servers. I have not been able to figure out what it could be in the game code. My suspicion is that there is an Open G/L bug in the engine.

First, are you running a dedicated server or not? If not then do you see the saber hilts (and just the saber hilts) as black and white (as you say, untextured)?

Second, change the video resolution. Does the texture return? [This is what makes me think it is Open G/L related].

If you see all these things, then you are seeing what I have seen before. I have no fix for it.... at least yet. The work-around is to run a dedicated server and then launch the client.

i was not using ded. in any occasion, as i have no need for it when testing my sounds, using dueler's for multi-taunts

(and so i can duel a bot after testing :))

i HAVE noticed that when i switch maps, the saber i've got is textured, but when i switch sabers again, it's untextured, even if i go back to the original

you can figure it out, if you figured out how to fix the spectator bug :)

its a bug with listen (listen=non-dedicated) servers, if you refresh your video settings the hilt textures will show up fine, but you will have to do that everytime you switch hilts. This only happens for the host, clients see the hilts fine I believe. Again, we know about this bug but nothing was changed in that part of the code so we do not know why it is occuring.

There's no refresh video button so you can just change a video setting then put it back to you can access the apply changes button, that will refresh ur video from there & the hilt texture should show up fine.
