My specs are: 1.3 ghz cpu, geforce fx 5200 128 mb, 384 ram, windows me. I have noticed a very annoying thing on certain maps in sp (such as echo base) where there is so much fog or something that i cannot see most of the textures until i am about a foot away from the object. strangely, this only applies to certain things, mainly walls and crates. pipes, light fixtures, doors, turrets, and npc's look just fine. this results in the disturbing phenomenon of seeing a bunch of objects floating in a sea of white or gray. when i look at the scene through a scope, like on the disruptor, everything looks fine. the rest of the time i have difficulty seeing the floor walls or ceiling, and have to bumble around blindly to try to navigate towards a door. I a have been unable to correct this through the in-game video settings. Could somebody tell me if this is a bug or merely bad game design (way too much fog/light), and if it is a bug, what can i do about it?

I've got the same problem, i thought it was just in adverse weather conditions like on hoth or coronet. but it pops up everywhere. I have xp aswell. Curses to you, xp..........And your textures... and your stoopid grey spaces..... p.s. if you look closely with your saber, from the glow you can make out the texture that should be there. So they are there, but they're covered by that weird grey space

This does seem to be something which does keep turning up. I made the jump from W98SE up to WXP home. I can't say I regret it. Neither have I experienced what you say with either 98SE or XP home with either JKO or JKA.

There has to be someone who can explain this cos you can not be the only people who have experienced this. I have heard from other forums that Athlons with XP can be problematic when installing some games.

What may be problematic is if you are using XP pro, cos it was never designed for games, it is meant to be the successor to Windows NT, which again, was never intended for playing games.
