How do i make a server that will show up on the list? This is what i need to know so if u can tell me than that will be excellent! ;)
Do u hav a firewall or router? Cause if u do u it wont show up, u can turn off your firewall but i dont know what to do about router...
I have a similar problem as jc.
I have a router with a firewall built in.
The way I got around this problem in Jedi Outcast was by starting a dedicated server for Internet, starting the program again, and joning the server I just made. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in JKA for some crazy reason. Then again, it could just be me, so try it out.
try making a dedicated server for LAN/CABLE. It will show up for you under LOCAL but for everyone else at the normal spot
Not all servers are listet on the "in-game server list". Sometimes they just need time to get on the list of reavenserver. Maybe because of your firewall/router. Remember to uncheck the filtering options, "don't show empty servers". Last but not least, can people join through the ip. (>)You(<) can also join through the local server selection.
I didn't make it!
like i said on the jka deticated forum, u need a unbroken wire to your router and a static IP to do a internet-deticated server
Yeah you have to make sure any and all firewalls are off, or even an anti-virus, then the best thing to use is the new JA+ Mod 2.0 or even 2.1 because they have programs that start the server automatically. I use the Raven dedicated Auto Restart one. But make a shortcut to it and on the short cut, edit the target path in its properties menu and make the target path the exact following excluding the brackets: ("C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\start_japlus_autoRestart_dedicatedServer.bat" +set fs_game japlus +set net_port 29070 +set com_hunkmegs 64 +exec server.cfg)
After that, the only thing you have to do to start your server is to double click that .bat file and play the game. Nothing more to it. Hope this helps.
u an use firewalls fine with a server, u just may have to physically enter the server ip to see your server, as they are sometimes 'hidden' as part of the security
just add it to your favourites
although its for jk2 the following tutorial is useful for jkja too:
i have firewall and can make servers......ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE IT A DETICADED SERVER!!!!!!!!
