Well I do hope Raven uses a newer game engine for the next game in the Jedi Knight series...
uhm... or an own one but Q3 is cool, especially cuz they figured out all you can do with it for JKA... (although it's by far not the best engine for saber combat)
Realy depends what they can get away with I guess.
If they can license the Quake engine for a $100,000, and the alternatives cost nearer $1mil, why would they sacrifice the extra profit :-/ Using a different engine would also carry far larger dev. costs, as they already have all the tools & experience in place for developing with the quake engine.
Until they have a game (using the quake engine) that flops, it realy doesn't make financial sense to use a new[er] engine.
Thats why I refused to buy JKA - while superior to JK2 in many ways - contained no innovation what-so-ever, it was just the same old, repackaged a little, to milk all the SW fans out there for more money.
:saber: Lightsabers lots ans lots of lightsabers!

they need to come out w/a new flight game like XWA. XWA was a GOOD game, it just never took off like the JK series. and battlefront and RC are gonna be good games (i hope) not flops like Galaxies. the quake engine is well used, if they switch to a new one, they had better keep the moddability that JK games had.
