General TaskeenNo, CoD was like MoHAA omaha the ENTIRE GAME except 50 times better. They are definitely not the same either. Since when do the AI in MoHAA give you covering fire or help each other in a squad. The AI in CoD actually act like humans and they WANT to stay alive.
It's all scripted....
there is already a thread for this...
OK, I've only tried the first demo.
But it's weird noone commented on the strangely modelled soldiers. People present in my room laughed when they first saw the players humping over the field like a sack of potatoes. Their chunky hunchback-attitude might be realistic but it looks ridiculous. In other ways the graphics are very good. But after getting so used to the fantastic BF42 environment where everything around you evolves freely (I only play online) it doesn't feel that great when the game is obviously scripted.
The flash of antiair etc on the edges feels like scenery, a bit like in old kung fu games where they put a different image as a backdrop of each fight to give an impression of geographic presence. The lack of ai becomes apparent once you repeat the mission. And the shootouts are "too realistic" in my mind- it's more fun when you have to aim fast but carefully like in bf/fh rather than blast away and hope for the best like in COD/real life wars.
I might give it another chance though.
I bought the game awhile ago and I might as well add my opinion also...
The singleplayer missions are fun, and they definately get better as the storyline progresses...the russian theater is the most intense and most entertaining...it definately felt like COD was trying to spend most of their time with the eastern front...the british missions felt like that had a lot of atmosphere to them, especially the gliderride in and the non-stop attack from tanks and infantry in all directions...
the american missions disappointed me a bit (since I'm american I wanted more on this theater...heh) but the atmosphere was still there...it just didn't feel as long as the other theaters...each theater had their good levels and boring levels but overall it was a very good game with a little feeling of MOH:AA...
the mp wasn't anything too special and I haven't played it for more than 1hr cumulatively...but the sp made the game well worth it, the cinematics and storyline fit together nicely, and despite the scripted sequences its still fun to play...it'll probaby be one of those games I won't play again for awhile, but when I get in the mood again I know I'll be in for another nice experience...
if you have $50 laying around (for some reason I did)...I'd buy it unless something nicer like HL2 or Doom III comes out...
SensesFailIf you have $50 laying around (for some reason I did)...I'd buy it unless something nicer like HL2 or Doom III comes out...

SpideyTommy have no fear, they are making plenty of mods for CoD including respawning in S&D and Retrieval modes, more gamemodes, more maps, weapons, and quite a few realism mods. This is not the last we've heard from Call of Duty. And don't rule out an expansion pack because the devs said "expect more from Call of Duty"
oh yeah, when reading what people thought about CoD I was like "I'm not buying this crap" but then I remembered about the mods... :p there r gonna be GREAT mods for CoD, woot!
Al Caponeomg noob this has nothing to do with cod it is your peice of crap pc!
Excuse me, but I have probably a better computer then you. It just so happens that the game has some problems with the ATI drivers, but of course you would know that with your POS Nvidia. My specs: AMD athlon 3000+ processor 512mb RAM ATI Radeon 9800 All in Wonder Pro 80gig Serial ATA hard drive Windows XP -and no i didnt by a damn generic Dell. so stfu noob
Wait a tic, Capone was calling me the noob? Then why did he quote someone else
