Blistex²You're trying to prove your point by debasing it?

Teacher: "Taskeen what's the capital of France?" Taskeen: "Who's to say what can be defined as a capital? People have been seeing their particular lives and towns/cities as the centre of their world for eons! Can we really say what the capital of a country really is? Are we not putting more value in one person's life than another person's?" Teacher: "You fail!"

You don't win a debate by saying the question isn't important after you've already lost it!

On the left hand side of your keyboard, between the "Tab" and "Shift" keys is the "Caps Lock" key. Please press it so that the middle light in the top right hand corner of your keyboard is not illuminated.

Also shoot yourself in the face the number of times required for you to make sense in you posts.

I suggest 6 times, get a friend to help with the last 5 shots.

SpiderGoat'A few thousand' direct victims: about 110000 death, 130000 injured a couple of years later, due to radiation: +230000 deaths Plus countless babies being born with one eye, limbs missing,... A few thousands? @Rafterman: You know, America could build more... They build thousands of nukes during the Cold war... After you know HOW to build a nuclear bomb, the building itself isn't really a problem anymore. @Moldie and others: Eh, the japanese should shut up? Ok, let's look at some other countries. - The US: killed thousands of Indians, massacered them with modern weapons, they have never apologised for this. - Great-Britain: during the 'Boer-wars' they started using concentration camps... Drove away inhabitants of various countries, such as the Aboriginals. - Spain: Killed millions of Indians living in the new world. 'Lust for gold' - Germany: Well, you know - ... EVERY country should 'shut up for a few hundred years'.

I agree. All countries have behaved badly in the past. I feel no remorse in dropping the big one on Japan twice. They were the only country to use germ warfare and the tried to use it on us. They were trying to get atomic material from Germany at the end of the war. Now if Japan had the technology you don't think they would have used it? Japan was prepared to use every man, woman and child as a soldier. They instilled in their culture a 'no surrender' mentallity. Look at Iwo Jima and Okinawa and you can get an idea of what the allied casualties could have been. I think the main reason was to end the war as quickly as possible to keep Russia out. It was war. LeMay wanted to burn everything to the ground. Would the complainers rather millions were killed infire bombing? I say go ahead and display the numbers killed in the two a-bomb attacks, but also list the casualties in the fire bombing raids. I agree nuclear war is a terrible thing, but Japan brought it upon themselves. They awoke the sleeping giant and it stomped them. Deal with it and move on.

The British Forces in South Africa did, invent the concentration camp, well it was the idea of General Kitchener, the commander in South Africa. What happenend there makes me very angry at my country. But as said before, every country has done things in the past, For example, how the american goverment launched a virtual genocide against Native American Indians sickens me. But when you think about it, a lot of the people in america have a british ancestory. Things happen. Its important to remember the ones who have died, but don't let it cloud your judgement of a modern day country.

To be honest, the japs can just get a box of tissues and cry about it. They started the shit with Pearl Harbor, we ended it. They should have 0 say-so in this matter. Innocent poeple being killed, blah blah blah, they started it so they will have to face the consequences. WWII was practically fought against civilians, look at the casualties from any nation and there is almost always more civilian deaths. So anyone who talks of innocent poeple being killed, thats war for you. I can't wait to see it on display without any casualty pictures around.

Civilian Casualties of Norway, Denmark, Australia, India, New Zealand, Canada, Finland and USA, almost 0 (maybe hundred). Casualties of Great Britain, Japan and Rumania: less than the military casualties. Even the Sovjets have less civilian losses. That doesn't mean there aren't any countries with more civilain losses (China has more civilian deaths than military), but to state 'there is almost always more civilian death' is wrong.

'They started it.' They? You mean the Japanese people one day gathered and said: 'Hey, wouldn't it be great to launch a sneak attack against the US?' 'Yeah, that'd be great!' The emperor and his military advisors attacked Pearl Harbor. If you think they were all responsible, why didn't we take all Germans, and judged them at Nuremberg? Didn't they all help killing the Jews?

Why do people think everything is exactly what it says. By "they started it" we all know who them is, its retorical stuff here. For instance, everytime a soldier would say "Jap bunker ahead" is he saying that every japanese person is in that bunker? Come on, don't make something into what it isn't, you know what I mean. Also, I don't think you have seen this..http://www.angelfire.com/ct/ww2europe/stats.html And yes, I'm aware they are all different, so what about this one..http://www.valourandhorror.com/DB/BACK/Casualties.htm and this one too..http://bss.sfsu.edu/tygiel/Hist427/texts/wwiicasualty.htm I'm not going to say "research then post" like most do, but I gave you 3 sources right there that are over 50% in more civilian deaths. Except that one which didn't give some amounts of civilians deaths (the last one) Thank you...

Oh yea, forgot to include that civilians pay the price for their Govenments decisions. And a prime example of this is what the Enola Gay did, made the Japanese military/people pay for what their Government did. Just like the hell we (USA) catch for the Vietnam conflict. You don't point the finger at ones government, you point it at the whole nation. That my friend...is "them". But I'm not gonna post anymore here because last time I got on an OT section of a forum I got banned for voicing my oppinion, so I'll see you guys in the other sections, lol.
