I think San Andreas is a great game - I've been playing it on my PS2 for years, and I just went back to it (lol, bear with me). So, there's me playing it on my new TV when I think "Hey! There must be some fantastic mods for this, and I bet the PC version has waaaay better graphics!" So now I have it on PC. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble adjusting to the PC controls - I can't even begin to fly planes with the keyboard, and I don't want to have to keep inverting the mouse... Basically, I was wondering how most people have their controls set up. Is it in fact easier to use the default controls? I waded straight in - changing this, switching that for that. I use wasd for movement, and then I was trying to change everything around that in order to make anything possible.

I used a similar setup to the ps2 version with a ps2 layout style gamepad and went from there. It might be possible to use it with an Xbox controller though so give that a try.

Hmmmm, I was thinking I would perhaps have to get a gamepad... Might come in useful. Any good recommendations? (Unless anyone else has a better idea...)

I can tell you now, the logitech wingman (first addiction) had problems with the 2nd analog stick, part of it was mapped to the throttle on it making targeting a nightmare. I personally think The logitech duel action gamepad, my dad used it and it felt perfect when I took over for a couple of missions. Anything based on the ps2 layout of controler should work.
