Ok, I've got a problem with my game sence I installed a bunch of cars.

All I wanted to do was to change all the cars to real cars of simular size shape ect. So I went threw the whole list of cars and replaced them 1 by 1.

Now, I have a pretty cool looking game. But there seems to be and issue with the textures of buildings/roads. I get random flashes, I'll be on a road and it will flash to the distance LOD, and then back. As I drive through the city, some buildings will draw correctly, while others will keep the low res. texture.

It did'nt do this before I started adding mod cars(It may have alittle, but this is epic in comparison). And I've had issues with some ppl's cars. So, I went back in and found some of the cars I had replaced, that had issues (waaay to shiny, or wheels wrong size etc.) Did'nt help.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the mipmap settings. It does this even if I turn it off in the games display option menu.

I even tried forcing trilinier mipmaps in my graphics card settings. Its seems to help alittle, but doesn't fix it.

Anyone have any Ideas? I would think that most of you have done the same thing as me, replace fake cars with real ones.

My PC is uber, so thats got nothing to do with it. AMD 4800 X2 7900 GT 4gig XMS memory etc, etc.

depending on how high poly the cars are, you may have made the game require a computer much more uber than yours is. one way of finding this out, is to tell us how big your gta3.img file is in the models folder of the San Andreas directory (standard is C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas\models\gta3.img).

replace fake cars with real ones

every single car in the game is a copy of a real car, so none of them are fake.

the shiny cars and the wheel sizes have nothing to do with the problem. they are determined by the quality of the model and how badly you installed it.

Well, I used SAMI to install all the cars.

And I understand that the origonal cars are copies of rear ones. But they are not the real ones, so what would "you" have me call them? :)

And as far as me saying that my PC is uber. I know what your thinking. Showoff, he thinks he's something... And its not really uber.

I was just using that term to describe the fact that I thought my systems specs should be more than enough. Not trying to act big...

The IMG file has swelled to 1.22 Gig. Yeah, pretty huge lol. I had consided that this might be the problem. But the fact that I get 60 frames all the time (or Better) with everything maxed, made me think that even if it was alittle much, I had enough power left over to compensate.

And the game is stored on a New Raptor R drive. I had noticed that the origonal HD I stored the game on ran nonstop when I played. So I moved it to a faster drive. Did'nt help.

I had the same problem with my game, turns out I had a bad file, and I had to take out each car till it got better.

And as far as bragging, no worries, my pc is uber too lol.

:( i'm not even going to disgrace the forum with my specs.

that's no problem, a PC of half the ability of yours can run that fine. although, with your specs, once you fix the problem you may want to download this mod (for uber PCs only).

When you say you had a bad file, you mean that one of the cars you dl'ed had some issue?

I was really hoping that this wouldn't be the problem. Becuse I guess you must know as I that it was, and is alot of work to replace all the cars..:(

But I kinda thought that it could be the issue. Like I said before, I've had issues with some of the cars I installed. Not just wheels and shine(know what causes these issues). One example is when I started replacing the cop cars.

I thought it would be cool to have Vics and Caprices. LAPD Caprice, Shieff Vic etc. Well, the first time I encountered a Caprice in a Vic the game crashed.

And I have noticed that I haven't seen some of the more common cars sence I started mod'n. And when a car is a problem, I've found, it doesn't even appear. And causes weird stuff with the graphics. So it must be one of these cars.

I don't know if I sould try and find the car/cars that have problems, or just start all over...

That 10x is a very cool mod flip, I use it.

Thanks for the help guys.
