Yeah, for some reason I can't change resolution. The default is 640x480 and as I try and change it, it gives me that Windows "dun" error sound and freezes. As I press Esc it brings me to Windows desktop. Also it seems that the menu seems kinda slow.

I tried out the Real GTA III mod earlier and liked it. But at some point re-installed the game and now I can only play at the 640x480 res. I think the mod is the cause for the game has worked fine before.

Anyone else had this or knows what going on? Please help. :(

another idea that worked for me.. my GTA VC wouldn't change resolutions without locking up...i ran it in compatability mode and then could change resolution only other idea i have is changing to an older or newer video driver..if you have the newest then try an older one..sometimes newer drivers mess up older games you said it was fine until you installed a mod..i really don't know why a clean install didn't help

Yeah it's most likely the driver causing it. How do I change them? I know, I'm a newb at that stuff.

-ShadowMan-;4574664...that Windows "dun" error sound and...

Windows hasn't had a "dun" sound since 98.

Windows XP has "ding" Windows Vista/7 has "bing" (not the search engine)
