Hi all, Last night i decided i wanted to play good old GTA: VC on my new pc (that i've had for a little less than half a year without playing VC - i'm scared myself). The installation goes fine, but when i hit the "Play GTA: Vice City" icon the cursor changes to a spinning CD and then... NOTHING - nothing happens, no matter how long i wait. I've tried starting it directly from the CD, but that doesn't help. Also re-installed with the same result. There are no scratches on the cd - actually i've successfully installed in on another pc to test it - where it works fine. Any thoughs, ideas and especially solutions would be much appreciated. SysSpecs are: P4 3.2 GHz 1 GB ram Radeon 9800 Pro WinXP SP2
Still not working :( is there really no-one who has a solution?
Same problem here...it's cause I switched PC's (graphics cards). In the saved games foler, there is a .set file. This file keeps track of all settings including which card you're using. If you switch cards, the game won't launch. Delete this .set file, and relaunch the game. Hope this helps.
Download a no cd patch. Except mine first goes into the game, goes black and asks for the CD then.
Hi - Had same problem. GTA-Vice City MUST be installed on primary partition on your hard drive (ie where operating system is). I had installed on my D drive and had same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled on C and ran perfectly. Pretty stupid though that program lets you intstall and makes no mention on screen where it alows you to change
