When I changed out my video card from a GeForce4 to a Radeon 9200 a little over a year ago, GTAVC wouldn't start up at all (worked previously). I tried many different things to remedy it, including a clean install of XP, but it never worked.

I recently put in a Radeon 9550 and now VC works just fine again.

Dunno if that sheds any light on your situation....

What OS are running AmySue? If you are running an OS other than 2000 or XP you can't run more than 512 MB on any game(or most other apps) it's a limitation of Win 9X and ME based systems.

I have XP.. It was even running ok after I added more Ram.. I tried out a mod then after about a week I took the mod out. Took the game out. And did a clean install so I can get another mod that will be out soon..

The only other thing I could think to check was if the previous mod uses a self installer, it may have put something into the registry that's messing you up. Do you have any other machines that you can try the game on?

It's difficult to do with only one machine since(we are assuming) the damage has already been done. What you could try is System Restore. You can restore you computer to a day and time before you installed the mod that you think caused the problem. It doesn't always fix problems of this nature, but it's worth a shot. My next suggestion would be a fresh install of XP, though you may not be willing to go that far.

No I really wouldnt want to re do XP not at this point.. And if I did a system restore it would need to go back pretty far lol.... Theres gotta be a way to figure out what went wrong.. All the things I did I have done a 100 times,, find a mod try it, ditch it and do it all over again..
