In Quake IV you have to extract the files, normally .pk4 and .cfg files into the Quake IV root folder, NOT in q4base !!!

If the .zip file that contains the mod does not have the .pk4 files on a folder, you have to make a folder into the Quake 4 root folder and extract those files into them.

When you run the Q4 game you can select the mod you want to play from the mods list, then the game will restart and load Q4 + the mod you was selected.

Or you can create a short cut icon named for example Q4_mod_xxx of the Quake4.exe file with this line placed into the target box on the properties of your own Q4 shortcut...:

"E:\Jocs\id Software\Quake 4\Quake4.exe" +set fs_game bhng_q4 +disconnect

This will load Q4 + the bhng_q4 mod (that is the name of the folder's mod).

Or also you can create in the Quake 4 folder a text file named nameofthemod.bat or nameofthemod.cmd, put this lines into and save them...:

"E:\Jocs\id Software\Quake 4\Quake4.exe" +set fs_game bhng_q4 +disconnect

When you click on it, it will load Quake IV game + the mod set in the +set fs_game nameofthemod.

Ok, i hope this help you and others know this. :)
