When i put it in the main folder i still couldnt play it online. do i only put the level file in or the whole folder? or am i puting it in the wrong place all together?
#2- I have downloaded levels directly from RtCW MP ( the automatic downloading) When i do that it works great! The only problem is it downloads very slow! ( 4kb / second) I have cable!!! Wheni download from RtCWfiles.com it downloads 376kb/second. What is wrong why does it download so slow when i dnld directly from MP. is there an option i missed or somthing? PLEASE HELP ME!! thanks
OK when you download from rtcwfiles there is a prompt that askes you where you want to save it to. I keep it in a temp folder. After it downloads it ask's you if you want to open file or open folder. Choose open file. Then it should (depending upon your default setting) open up in winzip. Depending upon the file you downloaded wheather it be a single map or a map pak determans how many files are in there. I usually just take out the pk3 files but to be on the safe side highlight all the files that are in the window and extract them to C:/programfiles/return to castle wolfenstein/main.
If you still are a little lost there is almost always a readme.txt file included in the download telling you where and what files you need to extract.
Hope that answered your Question.
how do you extract them to a location? i have extacted them then i say show extracted files but thats it!
i extracted them to the place you said but it didnt work! should i show extracted files? ill continue to experiment
OMG i finally got it thank you sooo much!!!   That file you wanted me to extract to was a little diff than the real one! the right one is C:\program files\return to castle wolfenstein\main you were almost correct!!! thanks again!!:D

Glad to see it worked. See you on the killing feilds!
Damn Pyro - are you kidding?
Thanks for the great help Whubee!!!
Did anyone meantion you have to UNZIP the files using Winzip/ PKZIP, etc?
Nearly all maps are zipped.
Good hunting.........oh download the ME262 map called Project Schwalbe Me-262 , if you haven't all ready. It is an EXCELLENT map, so much detail went into this map and it is very challenging. It is probably one of the most impressive maps I've seen done.
Good Point FM, but yea, Whubee did mention winzip. and geez, u can't be on a computer more than a week without getting hit with file compression can ya?
