Hi, I'm pretty new in mapping and stuff. I have two questions about unreal ed 3.0. 1: How to create Teleporters??? 2: How to add your own textures in unrealed 3.0(jpg's, gifs, bmp, etc.) Without needing 3d studio max??? :clueless: :?Block: Greetz, moonlight da 2nd
2. As far as i know, you can create your own texture and open it up in unrealed (jpeg, bmp, gif, etc.). But Im not exactly sure, I do all my texturing in Maya (cause thats where i do all my modeling).
I have only made textures for characters, but to do it you just go to textures and go to file>import

think theres a tutorial on teleporters at http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki, this is a great place for beginner mapers to learn stuff.
I've tried to import textures in unrealed 3.0. I opened textures. After that i clicked on import. I can import .bmp so i tried it. I've gave the map name a name that doesn't excist like myowntextures(it does work with staticmeshes). It doesn't create that map. So i tried with map name a name that already excists. It didn't work the texture is not imported to the map. I don't know what to do! plz help me! :uhm: :uhm:
You need to save it first in your own .utx file after you imported the textures... so import textures, use them, save the used textures, save map, build all, play :)
Import it in to the myLevel package.
You can import .bmp .pcx and a few other file formats.
What I do with textures, is save them directly as a direct draw surface in photoshop .dds, though you will need the dds plugin for photoshop for that.
You can get the photoshop dds plugin here:
If you have photoshop ;)
and you can get photoshop from WAREZ.COM
