I was going to put this in modding but then no one will see it.

I play DOD pretty hardcore and i love it because of the realism. But the hl engine sucks. I think its time RTCW gets a realism mod. Like dod there will be recoil, crosshairs or iron sites and the ability to lie prone etc. The allied armys will have allied weapons and the axis will have axis weapons. I am also thinking is it possible to make it so on certain maps the skins/models can change. So that on maps where the Canadians fought in real life, there will be Canadian skins/guns and where the Americans fought there will be American skins/guns. Anyways i think theres a lot of talented mappers, coders, modlers etc that would like to see this happen and i want to quit playing dod and switch to rtcw permently.:rock:

I've been a "WWII Freak" for about the past 40 years (guess my age if you don't read all the posts :rolleyes: )and RTCW comes real close to the "Real" thing just short of having a grenade in my lap. The Thompson was used by the Allies, the MP40 by the "Axis"...the grenades are right per the users as are the handguns and flamethowers (with some variation in design). No...the Allies did not have the Panzerfaust but had the bazooka and the default uniforms are at least relevant to the wearer.

Don't get me wrong...the game can use some improvements but for a WWII groundpounder simulator, it really works for me.

Here is a real life breakdown of weapon damage: (1.) .45 acp is one shot kill (2.) A lot of the times getting shot wont kill you. (3.) Some people still lived after getting shot 4-5 times in the stomach with a 9mm handgun.

Here is my suggestion: Mod all the submachine guns to kill within 3,4,5 shots Pistols 1,2 shot kills. (The colt 45 acp round will kill anyone with one shot. Even some big 500 pound man.) (The force of that bullet slamming into someone is said to be over 300 lbs!!) Instant kill with knife Add on a mauser rifle without the scope. (Decrease spread to the sp values. Retain the 1 shot kill of the sniper version.) Please add on the Fg42 and m1 garand. (One shot kill of course) Oh one more suggestion or Idea I'd like to see: Get rid of the scoreing system where when you accidentaly tkill someone and appologize for it, it takes yur rating away. If its possible to mod it so when you tkill someone but that person doesnt appologize after 5 seconds to decrease the rating. I dont know its just an Idea, some true tkillers might catch on and use it to their advantage but there is still voting. Weapons stats: Muzzle velocity .....caliber..suggested damage..RPM Mp40 1247 ft/sec 9mm parabellum 35 500 thompson 920 ft/sec .45 acp 50 700 Sten ???? no Idea 9mm parabellum 35 ? Mauser rifle 2445 7.92mm 100 German Luger 1250 9mm parabellum 35 Colt 45 830 ft/sec .45 acp 50 Mg42 2478 7.92mm 100 1400 m1 garand 2800 ft/sec 7.62mm 100 Semi-Auto I hope this helped in anyway to contribute to an upcoming realism mod. The muzzle velocities might be off but the rpm are correct. (Thompson does fire faster than mp40 and I do know that 500 is the actual number.)

I am going to set up a thing where if you get killed, it will automatically email your mother and or wife to tell them you've been killed in action playing Wolfenstein. Oh wait, my wife is all ready a Wolfenstein Widow.......hehe

lmao I would be happy to mod the game but I have no modding knowledge. The only modding I've accomplished is I've replaced the bullet hitting flesh for single player. If you guys would like to start a small modding team, with my Ideas go right ahead. Just put my name somewhere in the credits for the Ideas. Well good luck to anything you guys might decide to do.

I tried the same Ideas in medal of honor , (its much easier to mod than rtcw) and the realism was pretty good. Made for an interesting game.

Imagine now you can sneak up on somebody and kill them with a luger! lol

Hi all,

2 shots with pistol to head of sniper will kill - I agree I think it should be one shot if you walk up behind sniper, put gun against head and pull trigger, however even in real life some lucky ppl have bullets to head and still live (small caliber firearms only though).

I know if things get too realistic some ppl will stop playing. Hard enough to get up beach now under heavy fire from good axis.
