With RTCW now on steam there may be a load of new players, I hope the Wild West mod works with the steam install it may get a few people playing it again, (I live in hope)

Its a shame they did not release the games for free. For Doom 3 I can understand but the rest of the titles are all old games.

Mmmm it seems there will not be any new players as they don't get a CD key to play online, there are a few comments on the steam forum about it, it seems odd that if you buy the game you can only play single player, yes it would have been nice if they had given it for free.

No key to play online? In my opinion, that's completely absurd. For the price you pay, you could pick up a used copy of the game or download both the SP and MP portions of the game from services such as Direct2Drive...

I too was hoping that there'd be a new load of players from the Steam downloads, but it seemed to just be another nail in the coffin for RTCW MP. :\

This gets more hilarious as it goes on, someone on the steam RTCW forum contacted Steam Support to ask about the missing CD key this is the reply he got.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Steam Support. We apologize for the inconvenience.

In order to investigate this issue, we will need to verify your ownership of the CD Key.

Please write your Support Incident Number or your Steam account username on the quick reference card or sticker above the CD Key and reply with a digital photo or scan of the CD Key.

 Retards, you'd think they would actually read the support tickets before replying.

i just got this game a few months ago.. tho its so old its a true classic..i heard of the game and seen screen shots and wanted it..i looked all over could only find new for 60-$80 bucks..i was not going to pay over 20 for new but. a friend gave me a copy a early copy with mp part but i never played it..i have also read alot of hackers and cheating in this game..its a shame. i have not seen rtcw on steam yet or know its price..had i seen it be for a few months ago.. im sure i would buy it if 20 bucks or so.. ya its old.. its cool tho and i run it on high settings looks good.. it did not like the girl skin mod i used..after 3 or 4 levels it stopped working until i deleted the mod..they was so cute.. i hate to kill um.. i just want to love them:D 159945lv0.jpg 159949xq9.jpg sassy. rtcw0588vl2.jpg

Steam - Return to Castle Wolfenstein Click the above to view

On Steam its $19.99, I'm surprised you did not see it on Steam I got sick off it being advertised, it seems they have sorted the CD key issue out, well for some.

thanks chalky. to tell ya the truth.. im more a mp person..but my favorite game ut04 is hacked to hell and back..so comes a long stalker.. its the first of all my games i played sp more then 1x.. ive seen all the stalker endings and still playing.. but. i did a slight system upgrade lately and will again soon.. so.. figured id give my games a try again and with better video ..so. anyway. this my game rig has only a 80 gig drive..so i install the games i want to play and or have the best mp part games i like..i dont care for hl2 mp parts..i had un installed steam and hl2 collectors ed. to save disc space it was over a 6gig file.. but.. reinstalled it lately to replay hl2 and some mod games..so.. and is why i had not seen rtcw on steam.. $20 bucks is not bad at all.. again its a classic.. 1 of the all time greats.. as said i could only find new for 60-$80 bucks.. i guess any key reg probs have or will be fixed have fun.. see ya.:)
