Hey,

I want to make an Unreal Tourntament 2003 skin REALLY BADLY, but I have no clue where to get wireframes, where to get versions of the original skins in photoshop-viewable formats, and where to get a tutorial on making utx and upl or whatever they are, files. I've made skins for Quake3 and JediKnightII before, but never for UT. Can anyone please direct me where I need to go? I could really use the help.

 Hey Talutah, You'll find the texture's and mesh art for all the charecter's on the third disc. As well as UT2003 Editor and Upaint. You should install the new patch for UPaint. Other wise, crash crash crash on your saves. Try this site . It's got an excellant map down load section as well as all the patch's. Unless of course that site is your path to this site:) Than perhaps I haven't been much help. Somewhere out there in my surfing of forums. I do recall something about a file needed to bring wire frames into and or being able to export them afterwords into UT3 from Photoshop.........If and when it comes to me I'll let you know.

Hey Slam, nice work on that skin =P 1 suggestion though- there's been a skin out for ages called LaurenEnhanced, it changes her face to make her look a helluva lot sexier. It's available on the site, try mailing the author to ask permission to put the face from LaurenEnhanced onto your skin. Just a suggestion =)

Ok, I found a bunch of PNG format skins on the third disk. This worked out well, cause for my first one, I mainly just wanted to make my own Necris type character out of a few existing ones. However, now I don't know what to do. UPaint doesn't install correctly. At the end it fails to run copy.BAT or something like that, and then the program doesn't work. I'll get the update and see if that fixes it, but can you tell me where I can find out what to do with my images once it does work?

As far as I can tell, UPaint is a basic paint by number program. If you have textures, you can import them for use. If you have a rendered skin, I don't know how you would be able drop it onto one of the existing charecters with this program. I believe Maya 4 also comes with and is on the third disc. It's already formated to work with UT2003. You might be able to find a tutorial to help you in importing both parts to make a whole. I don't think I've tried it but where does the Update link in UPaint take you ???? Perhaps to a wise old tech??? Just a thought.

Hey, the update did fix my Upaint crash problem. That is, after the updater stopped crashing. Anyway, got it working, and my first skin in the game. I also accidentally replaced Brock's skin, DOH! But I've got everything fixed now. Yeah, I found Maya on the 3rd disk, from what I hear a very cool program, but I have Win98 and can't use it. I think that's blows ass chunks. Maybe I can get a copy of WinXP soon. Well anyway, thanx for all your help.:cya:
