i have just started mapping in unrealed 3. i have caught with the rest of bsp and adding lights to it, but i am having problems with static meshes.. i can add them perfectly to my levels, but they are so dark (completely hidden or invisible even) when i play the map in ut2003 e.g. i have tried adding a walkway from abaddon hardware.. i can walk on it perfectly but it is invisble in game.. only the solid sideways are visible and the grate in between is invisble.. i have tried to add light above it.. below it.. and even changed its properties and tried adding ambient light to 25. but the only thing enlihgtened is the solid supports on side but not the grate. Only when i see it in light of my gun fire.. then its visible.

here is the picture without the grate (in normal lights.. light above and below it.. ambient light of mesh=10)
