I just formatted, installed the newest nvidia drivers, and got direct x9, i have a geforce 3 and now maybe 10-15 minutes into gameplay my computer freezes with a black screen and the sound is skipping, this never happened before i formatted, i just installed the newest unreal patch right after installing the game...

I have tried uninstalling unreal and playing with no patchs, doesn't work. I have gotten the newest sound drivers, and my cpu temp is only 104 degrees after it freezes, any ideas?

I second the motion! Uninstalling the entire game will not solve anything. The dx9 drivers would still be there, so in theory your computer could crash from other games that use dx9 (according to my logic). Just downgrade to another version of dx and you should be fine.
