Hi,

some of the maps i have cause a error message 'URL failed launching' and the game crashes to desktop. Can u help?

I have patch 2199 (latest) and a powerful pc.

Some of the maps on which this happens I see being played on-line, but when I try to join I get the mentioned message and hello desktop.

E.g., Morpheus5 and sHoK Child's Play DM's

Thanks.

Hey Guy: Try and re-download the maps or if your like me, you have them backed-up on disk. And you can just re-install, give it a try can't hurt right

Hi,

thanks for the advice, but I've tried that and had no luck.

Still the same damn error 'URL failed launching' and back to desktop (after filling in one of those error reports and posting it).

Any other suggestions would be very welcome!!

You may have to reinstall the original disk, or re install the newest patch.

Hi,

i have the latest patch 2199 (I hope a new one is due soon).

I guess that a complete re-install is what I will have to do.

The problem is, I guess, something in the system folder.

Thanks.

iF YOU NEED A CLEAN SYSTEM FOLDER i CAN E-MAIL YOU ONE AND THAT WAY YOU WONT HAVE TO DO A REINSTALL. JUST MOVE YOUR ORIGINAL TO ANOTHER LOCATION FIRST THEN DROP MINE INTO ITS PLACE. IF IT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM THEN JUST REPLACE MINE BY COPING YOURS BACK IN AND it WILL OVERWRITE MINE. IF YOU WANT IT LET ME KNOW. ok

Hi,

that's ok. Thanks for the offer. I'll get the file from my ut2003 cd - i want to create a working mirror copy in anycase; one that i can just use as a backup.

When i re-install, should I only use patch 2199, or use all other patches first and then 2199 finally??

Any help would be appreciated

lata,

I would think you only need the newest one, but being an old carpenter, I always measure twice and cut once. I would just install them all, it can't hurt.
