I didn't make it!

Hi, I just recently found out how to record demos (lol, took long enough) and when I did record one, and went to try and play it, it didn't work. I tried opening it with every program, but nothing happened. Important note: I did this demo with single player Return to Castle Wolfenstein. This is what the file name looks like: demo0000.dm_49 DM_49 File 1,274 KB And when I hover cursor over it it says: Type: DM_49 File Date Modified: 8/30/2005 6:27 PM Size: 1.20 MB So does anyone have any solution to my problem? Just a quick overview of my problem: I can't get my demo from single player Return to Castle Wolfenstein to play on my computer. Thanks, Inkubus

I treid doing that a long time ago but never got it working in single player. It didn't work the same way like in multiplayer. In multiplayer all you have to do is /record. I you would be so kind to say how you did that.

About running it. It is problably the same why is multiplayer. Start single player > Open the console (~ key) Then type /demo demo0000 > followed by enter.

Before you ask there is no program to run it with. Only the game itself.

Thank you very much I appreciate it.

It's quite simple really. Just go into your wolfconfig and add in:

seta g_synchronousClients "1" Remember: Add in the H, if you do seta g_syncronousClients "1," it wont work, you must add H in syncronous, to make synchronous. Then, just go in game and in console type /record. Viola. One last thing, how do I stop recording?

I remember using a script back then that aded the cvar. Maybe it did not work because I was in the game or it was wrong. I will try it out tommorow.

You can stop recording with /stoprecord

I really liked it when I saw it was recording the demo.

But it looks like it is not possible to run the demo. I have treid multiple ways but it all failed. If I load it directly from the main menu it closes the game to the console with an error:VM_Call with NULL vm. Virtual machine error or something I think. No answer of a fix for that to bad. Loading a map and then loading the demo drops me back to the main menu.

I checked google and found 2 people. Can't find anymore about someone trying to get it working. They had the same problem. 1 of them is the creator of the seismovision program. So that give me the idea it cannot work.

Looks like Fraps is a good alternative for recording it. Unless you have found out how to get it working that would be great :) But I think it is a dead end.
