in the past i had as operating system windows 98, now my pc's upgraded to windows xp, ive also got a new processor and some more ram (512Mb). but now i cant play rtcw no more. i always get this error message, about 'WolfMP.exe' (something like this, because i had to translate the error from Dutch): 'The instruction on 0x7c91142e refers to memory on 0x94a594a5. The reading- or writing[proces] on the memory has failed. Click OK to cancel the program. Click Cancel to [search for errors in the program].' so i tried to play it on a laptop, also with win xp. first i got the same message, but now the only thing that happens is, when i try to connect to a server, i get 'awaiting gamestate' and then i'm in the game, then it crashes to my desktop. could somebody help me pls, as fellow rtcw-addicts you have to know what its like without rtcw in your life ;). System: Windows XP home edition Version 2002 Service pack 2 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ 1.66 GHz, 512 Mb Sis 315

As you can see, no one answered our question yet. :(.
I hope to get response soon. I miss playing rtcw :uhm:.
so you guys are using 1.33? you need to patch up to 1.4 then to 1.41. also, there is an issue with SP2 and most games...until it's fixed, i would avoid updating to it. stick with SP1 for now
I run SP2 and all of my games run perfectly. Didn't have any problems with any program on my pc after the SP2 upgrade.
So what issues are there in what games Hfx_Rebel?
@LoneVirus69, what videocard do you have?
Sorry topicstarter. Don't know a answer to your problem. But do those problems hapen in other games to?
Yep update your video drivers on both machines with the drivers on the video card manufacturer's site and download and install 1.41. If you were running an altered version of the program, that could cause this too. But if you are not deliberately doing this, it is not something you need to worry about.
after i installed SP2, all my first person games ran way slower (even slower then usual for some), games would crash on me, some programs either didn't run, or were buggy as hell; then theres that damn annoying balloon that keeps telling me 'my system may not be protected" and it keeps reminding me that system restore is off! never had any of these problems till SP2 was installed. once i reformatted, all was well in the world. now, i haven't checked in awhile, have there been updates to this pack? any bug fixes?
To get rid of that annoying balloon, double click it and then choose the last menu option on the left. I beleive it is called Advanced Options. Once in there uncheck any/all options and click OK. The messages you want to never see again will never see again...
OR of course if you feel like getting fancy you can disable that service under "manage computer" but I ain't goin into that in a post....
thanx queeg, maby i'll d/l it again and give it a whirl
