Hi I recently purchased another copy of wolfenstien for my roommate to play on, thinking that we both could play on the same server together. However, if Im on a server and she tries to log on to the same one, I get a connection interrupted and then a server disconnected for unknown reasons. Also, then I cant find the server I was on in my favorites or the internet section, while it shows up on hers. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, thanks for the info. I guess I wasnt too clear earlier, sorry. What Im trying to do is have both of us play together on the same server, at the same time. I play on my desktop, and she has a laptop. We have a dsl connection, and were both jacked into the same router, a linksys 4 port router, NR041. It seems that whenever we both try to log onto the same server, whoever is on the game first will get a connection interrupted and then a server disconnect. The other computer will freeze on the load screen, and not connect. Then the server dissapears from one computer and only shows up on the other. That isnt really the problem because it comes back after around 10 minutes or so. Oh yeah, we both have seperate games, with different cd keys. I have the original, she has the game of the year edition, and both are up to date. I hope that clears things up, and thanks for the advice. Thanks

The only thing I can think of: Are you both patched up to the same patch?
That's an odd problem I have never heard of before. :uhm:

it could be because she has another version of the game. Im not sure though. Never heard of something like that happening before.
We both have the same patch 1.41. I dont think the versions matter, because first I had the original vesion in her computer, just swapped the cd key, and it was doing the same thing. So I tried a clean install and still the same. Ummm could it be something with the ports maybe? I dont really know much about networking and such. Thanks for the help so far

the default outgoing port of RTCW is 27960. So by default your both comps are using the same outgoing port and the server cant distinguish between your both comps because you both got the same public IP too. Normally your router should be smart enough to switch the port for one of your comps - if not try for example for one comp
I think you cant switch the port in game so do it in commandline or in configfile. After starting RTCW (and the right mod) check with /net_port weather it really uses the different port.
