I didn't make it!
:uhm: Can someone please help me to activate the maps once I have downloaded them, step by step? Thanks in advance.
A few prelims first before we go to instructions.
1) you need to have a unzip utility on your PC ie Winzip, PowerArc or something similar - if you don't have one you need one to install most maps - so download one.
2) you need to know where your Wolfenstein game is installed (if it is a default install it should be in C:/program files/return to castle wolfenstein). If you didn't install in the default directory some of these instructions may be confusing.
Once you have these things sorted it's time to go. Double click ont he zipped map file to open it in Winzip/PowerArc etc, you should have a window that looks somewhat like this:
Now highlight the map file (in this case mp_horus2.pk3) and click on extract, then, and this is most important, you need to browse to the directory where the rtcw map files are kept, this is, if you setup is default: "C:/program files/return to castle wolfenstein/main". You should have something that looks like this:
Then click the extract button.
This provedure may vary slightly depending on the zip program you are using.
Once you have done this start up Wolfenstein, go to multiplayer and select CREATE SERVER, your newly installed map should appear among the maps in the browse list bottom left, keep in mind that some maps are Checkpoint only etc so you may need to change that option depending on the map type to view it. If yo are still not sure then look in the "C:/program files/return to castle wolfenstein/main" to see if the relevant .pk3 file is their, if it isn't you may have selected the incorrect directory.
Hope this helps
Hey APOCOLPSE KID that was a neat reply how did you manage to get/take copies of the windows screen like that it was very profesional
Used a capture program to capture part of the screen image, you can see part of my wallpaper in the background of the second shot, then uploaded the pics to my webspace (P.S. my wallpaper is cool here is a reduced size image for you to gawk at!)

OK Guys, The Help thread is one thing but this thread is starting to stray.....
I resized your pic, Kid. If you have to post a pic, use Save for Web / compress the jpeg. Think about bandwidth.
Otherwise great help with the pics!!!
Time to shut this thread down unless rammer is still having probs. Sorry bout the filesize wolf but would you believe I did resize it? The original was 1600X2000.
