When I'm wolfing I keep getting "connection interupted" every 5 minutes or so. I just got a new p.c. with XP service pack 2 installed and I had already heard alot of bad things about it. Is that the problem? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you for your time.
i have no problem playing any online MP games, including RtCW with SP2 installed. let us have your system specs...
just out of interest do you have 56k bps voice modem :( ..or i have a lite 512k but after200 mgbites of download they back of the speed every meg ... and i download some big @ss files every night .... also what firewall do ya have .... and how far away are the servers your playing in ..? believe me iam an expert at connection interupted ask the wild west mod crew lol ..i play with 710 ping sum days LMAO :bawl: ANY way good luck try wild west if your from usa great mod mate :bows: in mods section of this page 1.5
SP2 works fine. We need those specs...
Are you using "Fast user Switching" by any chance? If so, you shouldn't while you are playing. You should have everyone else log out or you will get HORRIBLE performance. If say another user left a internet window open that had some sort of game going in it, you would DEFINATELY get the lost connection method. Just having some one else logged in with no program running can cause horrible client side lag...
Same Modem, same servers.. Never had a problem with the old pc... And I'm the only user on this PC.....Call of Duty multiplayer seems to work fine..... it's just wolf....By the way, thanks for your help guys...
Processor- Intel Pentium 4 3.20 Ghz Memory- 512 MB of RAM Vid Card- Radeon X300 SE Oper. System- Windows Xp (clean install)
Hope that's enough info....
Could maxpackets have anything to do with it?
Just a thought...
what are yours set at? also, have a look at seta rate
I'm not quite sure how to do that:(
OK, here is what I have them set at now.....
Seta Rate 35000 and CL_maxpackets 70.. Since I have changed it to that I'm not getting "connection interrupted anymore" but I still get the lag.
Are there any other settings I can try to tweak?
Please help, thanks...
