I have just cleared out the Bandits main base of operrations like 5 times, but more and more keep comeing back. Also non of my fellow Loners come to make the area they new base.

So is the faction war useless? because it seems to me you can never win a war :(

As it is now, yeah, there's no real incentive to helping a certain faction.

But when you think about it, it would break the story if you could take over faction bases. Imagine if you joined Duty, ran Freedom out of the Dark Valley (before you clear the Army Warehouses), cleared the Bandits from the Garbage, and the Military from Cordon. SoC would start with Duty being the dominant faction, and it would be a completely different experience.

....So, Nimble is with Clear Sky and he is at large as a Loner in SoC. I understand that i would mess up the storyline but come on, give us the satisfaction of wipeing the Bandits from the face of the zone :p

Even if you wiped out freedom from dark valley they would still be able to capture army warehouses.

And bandits don't have camps inside the hanger or carpark in garbage so it's perfectly canon to wipe them out.

Duty also was never in agroprom in SoC so it's perfectly fine to destroy them.

GSC was pretty clever in changing all of the faction locations so that if you destroyed them it wouldn't fuck up the SoC story.

Lol its a shame GSC werent clever with the rest of the game. Hopefully there is some very clever modders out there cooking up a faction wars fix cos id be surprised if GSC do anytime soon.

I know they've changed locations between CS and SoC, but destroying their main bases would leave them seriously undermanned.

It seems to me that there is a huge chance for a good modder to use the faction wars system in CS to make the game much more interesting.

Instead of minor incursions with one group then another capturing checkpoints, there could be strike teams moving around thru the zone, the bandits could appear in force in garbage and retake most objectives from the loners etc.....

Really, until someone fixes the games gets dumb in Limansk problem the faction wars are the only chance the game has.

Unless someone can port the CS changes over to SoC and the OL 2.2 or Inferno mods.....that would be fun.

I hate Bandits!! LOL. i would enjoy taking out all bandits from the game. Just a personal thing. I hope someone mods CS so we can have larger Faction battles. That would be cool. I love modders.

Even if you caused severe undermanned factions freedom didn't need alot of people to take army warehouses because it was infested by brainless idiots and a squad of army, and remember that freedom also has the help of the mercs so they aren't totally helpless.

For duties cause in the story Bar was infested by mutants, anomalies, and radiation but after the massive emission at the end of CS apparently it all got cleared.

Bandits are bandits and they're just all over the damn place.

And also the SoC story takes place YEARS after the CS story so there was plenty of time for freedom, duty, ect to find alternate bases and such.

There are indeed a few mods out there that enhances the faction wars and makes them much more common.......problem is that almost all of them can't work with the english version of SoC.

Actually the CS story starts you off on Sep. 2011 The SOC story starts you off in May 2012 So they aren't that far apart.
