Hey all,
In the advanced menu option, a load of my options are greyed out and I cannot enable them.
Things like lighting distance, shadow detail, wet surfaces and several others cannot be toggled or changed. I'm on Vista with an 8800GTS 320MB so I have DX10. I'm 1.0003 patch.
Any ideas?
Cheers!
Nobody? :S
Are you running Vista?
says so in my first post, so yeah :D

No problem with my drivers, just my intelligence! lmao
I RTFM and found that there was a forth render option that is DX10 Exclusive (Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting DX10). I enabled that, restarted the game, and all my options were available. However, I still cannot adjust the lighting distance and shadow sliders....
No, they seem 'fixed' with the DX9 options too, according as to 'low', 'medium', etc. My system runs the full dynamic (DX9) at maximum with no problems, but if I switch to the 'improved' one it becomes a slideshow as soon as anything starts to happen.. Still, is it just me or have the graphics improved somewhat on similar settings to SHOC?
Well I think the textures and the NPC meshes have improved greatly, as well as the weapons models. The NPC animations are very good also. Being used to playing over 100hours in ShOC, I still get surprised everytime I see a bandit jump over sand bags to take cover, or shoot blindly over the top. Pretty cool.
I also like the NPC conversations. Like when you on a raid, certain NPCs will shout "Awwww, I was just about to take nap!" hehe.
I wonder if there is a way to get DX10 style graphics in DX9, like with the hacked shaders in Crysis.
