Ello, Got a problem, I remember from SoC and OL that I could easylly make money from killing NPC that used to spawn in some locations, for instance killing mercs at the train stations near the bar. I always kille dthem took weapons and sold them. I could get missions from the barman if his looking for a part of an animal, that wa sthe most fun. Now thats alll missing the most fun! I get like quests to go defend a place ok.... is there anything else that can get you money ? Oh and artifacts, I remember artifacts spawning more often in SoC, I kept some to my self and sold some. Now its just empty :( Is there any way to bring OL options into Clear Sky? For instance: Hunt the mutants for iteams More artifacts More enemy NPC spawns
And at last.... is OL going to hit Clear Sky at all ? Sent and email to one of the admins but still havent got the reply.
For me, I only make money to get to the upgrader's shops and patch up armor, weapons, make weapons more accurate, etc.
On default, it's hard to make money, I think. I was never rolling in dough, nor did I spend a lot. Well let's think about it. First, I was robbed at gunpoint when I came to the Garbage. The bastards took all my 27K but left me my gun. I got behind a tree and shot them all, getting their weapons and crap but none of my money. Thanks a lot! Then I was robbed again when I entered the Flea Market [trip, boom, remember?], and I lost about 9k. So the game robs you and that really sucks and makes it hard to make money in the beginning. Afterwards, it's fairly easy, just pick up the higher level stuff like VALs, Sig rifles etc and sell them.
Personally, on my second playthrough [modded] I allowed myself to carry 200 kg, that way I pretty much never had to make 2 dozen trips to haul shit back to sell it. Do that and you'll make money easy. Or go to stalker.filefront and get the Fair Trade mod, that makes all the stuff you sell worth a lot more, that might be the more "Fair" way to make money b/c some people consider editing the carry stats like a cheat.
War has always been profitable (for some). I joined Freedom captured all duty's locations and HQ. After that, I grabbed some dead guy and dragged him through the locations where firefights had been, stashing all weapons/loot into him. I got about 500kg of loot and sold it all. Easy 80k.
Once you get above 60k or so, there's nothing to buy!
Traders should sell GPs and FTMs...... even at 50k I'd go for it.
I will probably wiat until a mod full of changes come out, I dont want to finish this game with current settings, really clear sky has some great potential. Do you think adding levels would be possible? like add BAR, Pripyat and wild territory again? That would just terrific, and maybe bring back some missions from old stalker so the new one would be longer...
I made the money in CS like I did in SOC, went into the arms, ammo and food supplie trade, I have a exalent resorce, plenty of bandits to ambush and rob , and due to the faction war, plenty of bodies too.. In CS there isn't much for artifact finds to added in the trade line like I could in SOC, but then again according to the main story line artifacts were just starting to show up, were in SOC time line there are plenty, so it stays in constancy..... You also have to remember from the story line the Zone has been abandon since the furnace 4 disaster in 1986. In 2006 another blowout incident happend. This is were the stalker first started to go deeper into the restricted zone for things. Scientist are just starting to learn whats going on and what has what value... CS game time is in 2008 i think, and SOC is in 2012, so by 20012 reserchers would have been now intressed in more and other studies, as well as asking for out side help, artifacts could be found more because the anomilies now have been in place longer to make artifacts. The zone can be seen more of a hazard than a blessing by most..were in 2008 they were just starting to venture with in it on the outside land scape, considering in 2006 is when the second incident happend. that gives about a couple of years of getting it togeather so no 2008, you would not have everything like you do in SOC. might make more sense if you played CS and then SOC after I guess...
Yeah, I gunned down about 3 dozen dogs & boars before I realized those body parts weren't coming. A shame, really. That, along with no true quests to kill them for the most part, means that unless they're attacking your guys or yourself, there's little point in killing them. BADLY implemented, mutants should not be merely an afterthought.
As for making money, I found a mod that allows me to sell stuff to fellow stalkers, since they all walk around with 5k RU, with nothing to spend it on, and they never have anything to trade aside from food and vodka (until they're dead, that is) It helps speed things up and keeps me light and running. It altered the traders some as well so they pay some more as well for items, so there's a point to still lugging all that stuff around. I find it almost pointless in most cases to buy weapons though since enemies around those traders usually drop the same weapons almost just as quick.
At least there's upgrades to blow all this cash on. And you can bet that future mini-mods will likely alter the mugging events so they dont take any money, or at least take a static amount that wont leave you stranded.

They removed the bar? I thought it was military base now? (haven't been past garbage) omfgs no bar... what about western territory, dead city, and the OLD garbage that seems was Never made.... :( ? Whats new? Swamps, Leminsk?? what else... game seems potential filled, BUT - missing key elements.
