In the cordon, that army base with the barstad machine gun... just wondering if anyone who takes them out on a regular basis has figured out the patern or condition that makes them respawn or not. I've played through a couple of times (not to the end :P) and to make a bit of extra cash i take out the army base and sell their weapons. Takes a frifggin long time and lotsa medkits, but when youve traded the weapons with the sidorivich, the whole base respawn. HOWEVER, sometimes they respawn a couple of times, sometimes never and you only have one 'wave' of military, and sometimes they never stop coming back after you leave the base.
its not a huge issue, im just curious is all. anyone know?
Not much of a pattern, me thinks. They just start popping back up, with that PKM gunner coming back the quickest. Its best to take the base on by going as far left from the base front as possible. A fence is there, and so is a stash that Wolf sells ya. From there, you can jump on some crates, and fall into the rear of the base and start your assault from there. If you're just coming from the swamps, its a really ballsy fight, but a few soldiers down, and you should have the rifles and ammo to keep on going. From there (as long as you dodge the grenades), its easy money. Just be sure that PKM gunner is the last guy you take down before running out.
If you go and CLEAN the military base (you have a quest also , the special medkit) they won't RESPAWN ...EVER..again ;)
That super gunner at the outpost, he Pissed me off! I was so made the whole mission had to wait, I attacked that base after I left the swamps, it was my own mission to make sure I gave a bit payback.... felt good too, my little sub mission acomplished...
I hid behind the big rock and watched for the compound to come and get me, its a one shot deal cause there coming. I shot everyone that came wich drops the number in the compound ( gets low enough a new group will spawn automaticly ). anyhow I saw the super gunner take off running down the stairs, at that moment I ran for the gunner. He ran back up and started shooting, but by that time ( and taking a few rounds ) I was under him and he couldn't fire. So I proceeded to reighn hell on them including the super gunner. How ever despite I cleaned out the out post, when I left that gunner re-spawned back fast. so I ran to the north east to steer clear of him...
I found the easiest way to take the base (saving constantly, of course) is to come in from the far left but DO NOT cross the fence. Instead, follow it towards the main gate, take out the roof sniper and the stand in the little nook where the building juts out. You can snipe them as they come out the door/around the corner. When the numbers are down you can also hop on the short ledge and shoot through the windows to nail the bastards squatting in the parking lot. If someone manages to lob a granade at you, simply run backwards to get out of range and then shoot them.

Not my experience. Actually it may rather mean that the base isn't totally "clean" and that a single soldier is still there somewhere. As soon as you have killed the last soldier, new squads will march in from the outside, (you can see the squads on your PDA) and the MG operator will be first on his post. Since the MG shooter will not leave his post when the base is under attack, I normally save him 'til I leave camp loaded down with loot and then I will have the time I need to reach out of sight before a new MG maniac is on his place. Cleaning up several times will not help, I've tried three times, and they allways get in new troops.
Cleaning up is not that big a deal. If you find a place where you control access somewhat, the first 7-8 soldiers will be pretty fierce, but can easily be killed one at a time. After that they send out one or two soldiers at a time to mann the rear guard, and those can be sniped from around a corner. They are quite slow in detecting you.
After having done this some times, I find it more fun to try to liberate the supermedkit without killing more than a couple of soldiers.
