That's a shitload of good points that should be tweaked and fixed, but most likely it's up to modders.

but anyway, u said somethings like agroprom is halfway through game and that most ppl are in seva suit? Your talking about the duty base place correct? If taht's true I should srsly start a new game, I'm in red forest and I' still in basic clear sky armor, and I've never got a chance to upgrade a weapon.... is this just me? and how far exactly (percentage wise) is red forest.

Wanna know what is really balls? I bought my Exo-Suit from the Loner base in the middle of the Research labs.

Joining factions is a good way to play the system and get equipment. Every time I visit Dark Valley or the Labs, I switch to Freedom and Duty, respectively. Then sell the stuff they give you [Faction Aligned Suit, Semi-Upgraded rifle (Abakan for Duty and SG552 for Freedom) with attachments (Grenade Launchers for both, and I think scopes.), and ammo for all of it.], then head back to Cordon and rejoin Loners to maintain neutrality. Good way to get parts and make some money.

Also, the 9x36mm (VSS, VAL ammo) is slightly stronger than you might think. I'm pretty sure there's some other values that contriute to it's strength other than the raw hit damage, such as armor pireceing. But the accuracy for those rifles (Assuming you can account for their gravity loving drop speed [They are some heavy bullets]) makes up for both of those problems.

But that only explains Grenade Launchers and ammo, all your other points are big problems with the game.

And now that you mentioned it, I THOUGHT quite a few of those guns looked familiar. Son of a bitch. And GSC never consulted any of the modders about these? Thats a low down dirty shame, that is. Did GSC even make many of these models & animations themselves? This suddenly suggests otherwise. Yet they won't give up what we need to really polish this up out of pure pride.

no as far as i know they did not pinch anything unasked. they had LOTS of help and advice and collaboration from the AMK team. so they had permission AFAIK for whatever they used..

but use they did.. and gave back nothing. ( other than possibly helping AMK do stuff)

So if they consulted with the amk team why the hell is CS so buggy.

Wait AMK is also known to be buggy as hell at some points too.

If only they consulted kanyhalos.....

There's an accuracy upgrade (Barrel Rifling) that makes it 50% more accurate but can't use buckshot anymore.

Winchester 1300 can use buckshot just fine, you probably just upgraded it too far. All shotguns have an upgrade option to increase accuracy at the expense of excluding buckshot as a possibility.

(notes harley914's and zanderarch's posts)

Aha! Now some things seem clearer. I'm already back to Agroprom in my new game. Haven't been to Dark Valley yet. I'm aware of the issue of straying from the main story paths that are set, but I figure as long as I don't talk to the General in Duty all should be fine. Ran up to Yantar too but was disappointed to find the bunker locked. Guess I can't do that out of order.

But anyways, I haven't seen the SEVA suit for sale this time around, and thanks to those posts, I now realize that its probably because I'm still a Merc. I've yet to join any faction just yet. Seems like certain things for sale only open up if you're with their faction. This makes perfect sense pertaining to the suits of these factions, along with some of the guns.

At first I thought I'd be forced to choose sides, but thanks to Zanderarch's post, I now see that that post I read somewhere about only being able to join a faction once seems quite false. I think I'll use his way of playing all sides to get what I need. Since I'm still neutral, I think I'll join Freedom, gank, then join the Loners. I'll see how the SEVA compares to the Freedom suits. Then I'll do the same with Duty, and hopefully be able to rejoin the Loners.

After all things necessary are said and done, I'll probably rejoin Freedom and kick Duty's ass. Duty's a buncha stuck up bitches, they dont like artifacts (neither of their factions suits have slots for them, and upgrades dont allow any either), and their trader's a dick. I dont need anything they sell (Abakans aplenty from the Military in Cordon, fully upgradable at the CS mechanic (?!) ), and I'm half Jamaican, so I just gotta party with Ganja. Although I'll obviously leave the important guys alive (cause I'm not entirely sure but it sounds like Duty's mechanic fixes up the PKM, unsure) and just rip them up wherever else.

The Loner base in Agroprom sells the Exo? Thats news to me. Holy crap, I might have to go join the Loners right away.

And if AMK has been busy helping GSC, that explains why their forums are so dead lately. Still, I hope they got some good compensation for this, for all that it was worth.......

However, I just found a MASSIVE issue. Its easy to fix, but its really ugly. More in the next post......in fact, I'm gonna post this in the main areas as well, cause this is really bad.

Well, I'm not copying that big ass post to here.

Long story short, most of the basic suits during the first half of the game dont protect against bullets whatsoever, despite what the rating shows. This makes the game much harder than its supposed to be.

This, for the time being, should remedy this issue. Aside from this, I also boosted the protection ratings of the SEVA suit some, boosted the Exo suits a little more, and enabled sprinting with them. A few artifact slot adjustments were also made (mostly relief for Duty factioners). This is a rather simple mod and should easily work with any version of the game.

Hope this helps.

So, I finally beat the game. And I gotta say, I was truely let down. No specifics here, but lets just say that your visit to NPP, more or less depending on you, is extremely short. I hope someone adds several guides to the later levels as a quickfix shortcut to go to and from those areas in Limansk and beyond.

But I was rather upset by many of the higher weapons showing up real late or not at all. NATO weapons don't get a lot of exposure aside from the L85 & LR 300.

The SIG 550 only really shows up barely before Limansk, in the Military Warehouses. Many claim that the Commissar (or whatever his name is) from Freedom drops one, but both times I've played through, there was nothing on his body or nearby. Freedom gives you one for joining them, but its already 50% modded for Sniper-type firing (which means no rail mount for the M203), and thats not my style in CS anyways.

The RG-6 makes its sole appearance early in Limansk. Pain in the arse, since its just past the primary point of no return. A real bugger.

The EM-1 (Gauss Rifle) & FN2000 only appear at NPP, and you oddly show up with both of them on you already. Sad part is, if you know exactly what to do, you wont even see the FN2000.

However, much to my dismay, the RPG-7, G36, and SVU were completely MIA. Chekhov might have had an SVU on his back, I'm not sure. But I'm not about to kill Freedom's leader to find out. And considering that at least a couple of stashes had rocket ammo, thats one stupid flaw.

This time around I've attempting to modify the traders so that Duty sells the RPG-7, RG-6, and ammo for both at high markup prices if you join them to compare with the PKM. Freedom will sell the others if you go with them, except for the Gauss rifle, which I'll probably just leave out for now. This way, it actually matches what each faction specializes in.
