Impressed so far, running CS 1.5.04 on Vista 32bit.

FPS seems to be a bit lower than XP. I'm in the swamps, at night, different weather. All the advanced options (SSAO, dynamic wet surfaces, volumetric smoke etc), but with the sliders turned down a bit. All are on medium-ish. Resolution is 1920x1200, and I'm only running an 8800GTS 320.

I'm getting 15-30FPS. Not brilliant, but its a lot smoother than XP, which is very surprising considering just how memory hungry Vista is. I'm not getting any stuttering, saving and loading up inventory is instant - no 2 or 3 second pauses like on XP.

I really like CS on DX10. Take a look at these screens:

Believe me it barely happens on mine. My 8800GTS frequently hits 95C!!

Getting a GTX260 next week hopefully!

The "Wet Surfaces" things make everything look like its coated in wax paper, I'd turn that off

I like it. I am also running Vista 32. I have a 8800 GTS 640 on a Asus 680 Mobo. Have yet to crash, I did notice one choppy spot during a heated battle. I am water cooling the quad 2.6 cpu and am get a temp of 29 C after playing. Does anyone know if the 680i Motherboard will accept the new Nvidia GTX-260 or 280 Video cards? Hate to get a second mortgage for something that won't play.
