Well it looks like ive found out why our weapons loose their condition extremely fast in Clear Sky.
The problem/feature is grenades and other explosions. I found this out last night while i was playing around on yet another run through and decided to see if i would beable to "kill" the bandits that mug me.
So i had around 30-40 grenades on me:rofl: and well went to town flinging nades down into that hole. well after throwning 5 nades down there i went to check on my handy work. well those 2 bandits were still there and i got mugged :bawl:.
So anyways i pick up the pistol that there with fangs pda and low and behold because i had blown that whole area to hell and back the pistol was completely destroyed.
So having your weapon degrade so fast is due to the damage that you take from grenades and other explosions. i wouldnt be suprised as well if melee hits from mutants and even bullets are also damaging the weapon that you are currently using.
In Shadow of Chernobyl weapons on the ground will take damage from explosions, anomalies, gunfire and so on. I don't know if it effects them while you're holding them though.
I do know that the weapon shot deg stat is double what it was in SoC, and the length and number of firefights you get into isn't doing you any favors.
the knife should take damage too, its more delicate than weapons nevertheless, have to keep the edge sharp
