Spoiler: Show
i think that the video was cool, but the endfight didn't make sense why did you need that gun. it was also stupid that te fnf2000 and the gauss(which wasn't a gauss) where given to you in the last level.

well, let my know your oppinion

ps: don't start with basing for what i wrote

I enjoyed playing through this game simply because: 1) There was new stuff to do in the Zone, and I'm all about that. 2) SoC runs like crap on my machine, because it doesn't like my Window XP 64-bit drivers. 3) Fallout 3 hasn't come out yet. But as for the ending...I think that four drunken lemurs dipped in ink & set loose in a room full of copy paper could probably have worked out a better ending for the game.

Spoiler: Show
The thing that annoyed me the most was that after you got through the hospital full of Monolith, you were suddenly magically transported into the power plant, given a gauss rifle, and told to run down Strelok. Then the clock starts ticking. You have no time to figure out what's going on, there is no way to avoid the waves of STALKERS that magically teleport in using many conveniently placed anomolies, and it talkes ELEVENTY shot to drop Strelok. So IF you figure out what you're supposed to do....and IF you can perch yourself in a spot where you can shoot Strelok without spawning more waves of troops, and IF you can connect enough times to kill him before he escapes....you are rewarded with instant death/enslavement/whatever. I can understand that you're running after Strelok & trying to stop him - but it doesn't hang together with the rest of the game. The entire game you are given dozens of pointless tasks that slow you down every step of the way, and yet at the very end the final confrontation is a duck hunt. I think that it would have been better if Strelok had been forced to deal with his own troubles, delaying him as well. Then, as you smash your way through to NPP, you get there just as he does. You lock eyes with him across the radiation-scorched wasteland, as you both share the same determination to defeat the other & get to the center first at all costs. Meanwhile, Monolith troops begin to close in around you from all directions, tightening the noose even tighter. You fire at each other as you both scramble to the NPP, getting there moments before a Blow-out happens, sealing you both in the Sarcophagus together. After a cut scene....you wake up in complete darkness....the sound of the wish-granter droning in Russian from all around you. You're left to pick your way through the ruined facility, forced to hunt Strelok in complete darkness as Monolith agents pursue you both. Strelok slips past them, using his tremendous skill, while his super-armor protects him from harm. You are left to fight your way through any way you can...until you get to the Wish Granter moments before Strelok. Then...at the very last moment, after a cinematic monologue where Strelok tells you that nothing can stop him, and soon the world will be his, you engage in a gun battle inside the Wish Granter. If you win, you drop his psi defenses, and he is suddenly rendered incapacitated. It is then that the C-Consciousness reveals itself to you, and you learn that you were the tool of the C-Consciousness all along - sent out to capture or defeat Strelok to stop him from completing his task. The protection you seem to have from the Emissions is in fact a gift bestowed unto you by the Wish Granter. But it comes with a price - for just as you complete your task, your central nervous system fails, you drop dead....your PDA clattering to the ground in the final moments of death. On the PDA is the objective "Kill Strelok." Then there is a cut scene where Strelok & you are carried away. Strelok is reprogrammed, and you are one of the many corpses in the Death Truck. In the confusion...your PDA is inadvertantly given to Strelok - which sets up the plot for SoC. That, my friends...would have been a better ending. But maybe your drunken lemurs can come up with something better :Puzzled:

I liked the ending....

Spoiler: Show
>it explained the deal With Strelok and his mission. >it was a Stupid ideal of using a gauss weapon for something else, should have been creative and came up with a different gun for that. >made it possable for me to say " OMG THE ENDING! FINALLY! " So I could chuck it on a shelf and for get about..... >found out there were others who felt the same... >how ever on a good note...I noticed it shouldn't have been Scar. It should have been Strelok really, This is his story.. >They should have placed it so you worked for CS and then they betrayed you or you lerned a truth and go on this self misson with fang, wolf looking for the things to get you past the brain scorcher and what not....he could have been cought with someone else shooting you or captured by the Leathal Monolith security force, ( they don't take prisonors do they? ) or something know what I mean... >might have made the game better..

i agree with both of you they could have made the ending more clichee maybe modders will make a different ending, who knows...

it would be cool if they made a patch with a different ending

i don't know if that ending can be changed. to me is hopeless. Its bad enough that the the whole story appears to be thrown togeather by a bunch of programmers ( that might have been drinking all night trying to figure out what to put out to market ) to just get it out. Like the gauss gun. In Soc we are introduce to this weapon at first as a weapon that only the monolith has ( base default game ). I understand this, I mean just look at the monolith, for something built by unknown humans looks more like alien tech, reversed or not... but the gause weapon as a power disrupter? I mean now that is very slopy. That says right there " just toss it in, fans won't notice, they will think its a first stage gun, thier stupid enough to belive that..." like how dose this work to SOC?

well what do you expect?a big electro magnet isnt going to do much damage unless you put two of them on either side of a fleshes head

I understand that, but logic suggest its BS. a gauss weapon is really a silent weapon that shoots projectiles by magnitic forces instead of gunpowder. how dose this dictate a electromagnitic surge to be fired? Now lets say the gause gun was used like it was allready set to do, and Strelok has a anomly shelid protecting him ( I know its far fetch ideal, but so is a bloodsucker who phases dimentions instead of cloaking like it did before..so why not..) I could see that being possable. as for a disrupter, They should have created a new device like when they created hand holdable detectors ( which is the best ideal and worthy enough to say, put this in SOC..).

I just cant help thinking that they didnt hire a creative team at all.

I mean look at the games that are out there with fantastic story lines and plot twists and things that make you go hmmmmm.....

Then there is CS..... um find strelok and stop him from reaching the center of the zone.

I feel like im stuck in Contra circa 1988 endlessly running along two levels of platforms or navigating a two dimensional maze with a gun that shoots round dots.....

Oh and I have tried to like CS.... I have modded it, tried other peoples mods...played it through to the ending twice on Vanilla.....

But I have the same reaction every time....I play with a small amount of interest until I am forced to go to Yantar....then I just kind of lose interest in the game and start randomly killing everyone I meet just for loot.

A Prequel really was the worst possible idea.

Give us a sequel where Strelok kills the C-con and then the zone goes wild. With no artificial controls on anything and everything is possible. I wanted to see blood suckers running wild through Barkeeps customers.....Duty driving tanks through the dark valley just to be safe.....Freedom living in tunnels and afraid to go out at night....flying mutants....flaming tonadoes erupting from the Sarcophagus and wandering through the maps....Anything but a boring slightly updated version of the original game engine tacked onto half the plot and the same amount of terrain.
