The RPD machine gun is similar to the PKM except it's a faster rate of fire and has more damage. I think it's found in red forest somewhere in the center.
Btw out of all those artifacts you have which one is the most useful?
I found mine later in the game, in Limanesk. If you wipe out Duty near Forrestor you'll get some RPDs, but there are easier ways.
Interesting to know. Wierd that this gun hasn't been mentioned anywhere else until now. Still cool though. Hope this stuff's ammo is purchasable somewhere.
Ahh, the artifacts. Several you see here, but many are just various resistance artifacts, mostly useless. I employed the "Better Artifacts 1.0" mod to boost them to usefulness (For instance, old Flash = +1 Electric, new Flash = +9 electric).
Since my last rant on the radiation-reducing artifacts and their rarity, I rediscovered the Jellyfish. Wierd how I missed them all during my first run, and have found three this time around (just cleared Dark Valley). One's actually in the very beginning, at the Watchtower Emissions event at the Swamps. Jellyfish are -2 Radiation each, and are absolutely necessary for using anything else for some time. Wrenched are the next ones up, at -4 radiation each, allowing me to use multiple, more valuable artifacts.
I also rediscovered Mama's Beads, which were also missing last run through. Instead of staving off bullets now (I dont believe any artifact does now), it stops bleeding, basically being the new Slug. +2 Radiation though, but you only really need one on. Night Stars look like SoC's Urchins, but with new unique effects - +10 max carry weight, +2 Radiation. Nifty, eh? Unfortunately, this doesn't effect your base carry limit, so you'll still drop in stamina fast just as quickly, but at least you can walk with 10 kg more. I'm using a weight mod, so I sidelined those, but they're great for swiping more stuff for the walk back to the traders.
Currently, I have this combo employed: 1 Wrenched 1 Jellyfish 1 Mama's Beads 2 Souls (+2 Health, +2 Radiation)
I'm like Wolverine out' this bitch.
GSC just gave the wrong name (as always) RPD is really a light mg, 7.62x39mm weapon used during the Korean / Vietnam War era. It replaced this heavier 7.62x54mm mg weapon from WWII called DP. This is the real PKM (in the game, it uses a PKM model/skin, but is called RPD) The PKM (called RPD in game) is what the Military is using as a stationary MG at the Military Outpost in Cordon.
You'd think GSC being Ukrainian would know their own damn warsaw pact weapons....
only gun that you can't use zoom ...old school feel to it . is the gun on main menu in the game the mini gun? like in terminator 2 ? is that in the game?
Not confirmed yet weather or not the mini-gun is an actual ingame weapon or not. I'm thinking it's like in SOC. It's there in the CS files, but no where to be found in the actual game. I'm glad the FN2000 and PKM are in the final CS files and are much more accessible in the actual game, unlike in SOC.
I found a PKM but i had no ammo. Also it is probably called RPD because he has a real weapon names mod. I think in the original game it was called PKM
A PKM is a PKM no if,ands, buts about it. RPD is a completely different machine gun and RPD is the vanilla name for PKM so he's not using a mod.
And thats bullocks you get a bucket of ammo with the PKM. Where did you find it eh??
A real name of a PKM is a PKM kalishkon or some russian subname.
