I just got CoP a few days ago and everything with the installation went smoothly, but every time I start it up, the game logo pops up, then a script window opens. It says it's starting the engine, but nothing happens. I tried re-installing it, but the same problem appears. Could someone help me, please? I have a Window 7 OS, so I suspect it could be something with the security, but I don't know.

end the process (which is most likely still running if there is no error message) via taskmanager and open the xray_yourwinaccountname.log (can be located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat\logs\ and post it here.

the log doesn't indicate any problem. What kind of hardware do you got? Also did you try to run the game with administrator priviledges?

Are you using a no-cd? If you are this is the cause of this.

The game won't start without the disc as would Clear Sky.

Find a means to get a cd to start your game ir external dvd drive if u haven't got an internal one.

I've tried everything, until I got a new DVD-drive for may laptop and got rid of the no-cd it worked.

Really? So any no-cd can not work? Dang, that sucks. Well, I try your suggestion and see if that works. Thanks.

Well, I'm using a no-cd with no trouble at all....Try keeping the ISO file mounted, it might just do the trick
