Well, I just wanted to let you know that I'm currently working on a big project for Clear Sky. It will use many minimods made by the community, but it'll also have unique features as well. It's not finished yet, so don't look for it. If you are an author of one of the minimods I'm planning to use, let me know if you have anything to say about me using or modifying your mod (I do hope that 99% wouldn't mind as long as credits are given, but one never knows...). Main features: -Vastly improved faction wars, have a better control over your troops. -All cut monsters (Burer, Cat...) are back. -Factions have their own interests and will not tolerate everyone... -The weapons system has been incredibly improved (accuracy, damages, upgrades...). -Few improvements in weapons' upgrades, see "note5" below. -Better Ai. -Working sleeping bag. -New transparent inventory menu. -More artifact slots available. -NPCs now loot dead bodies... -NPCs now buy almost everything. -Much more interesting trade system (buy upgraded and rare items). -Hunger (no warning icon!)... -Scar does finally jump much better. -More realistic consumables. -No map spots for Mutants... -You can now use your weapons in camps. -No minimap... -No grenade warning... -No more loading disk from the HUD. -Fixed Artefacts respawn system. -Improved the Artefacts birth system. -Small and yet existing new possibilities to find more useful and rare items on dead bodies. PS: Note5: as far as weapons' upgrades are concerned, The Warmongers mod fixes the following issues: the L85 had some completely useless upgrades; the "1.6x scope" one was replaced by a reliability upgrade (30%), and the "4.x scope" one was replaced with a 15% bonus of handling. The two G36's scope upgrades were replaced by a handling bonus (15%) and an inventory weight bonus (-0.2 kg). Other minor fixes is that the Abakan and Lr3000 weapons now need to be upgraded in order to use a grenade launcher. At last, the Fn2000's 1.6x scope upgrade has been removed and is now a +10 ammo bonus, and its 4.x scope upgrade is now a reliability (30%) upgrade.

Ceanos has a hunger mod. Maybe he will let you use that. His freeplay mod might also be useful if people want to go back at various points during the game (laminsk and npp). Ceanos S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mods

Yes, in case I don't manage to make my own the way I want, I'll surely use his. I will add a freeplay mod, I haven't pointed this out yet because I haven't already finished the game with my mod (still many things to do here and there...).
you know, i have a pretty good idea, if i say so myslef. What if you can convert the ol sub-mod witch allowes stalkers to play diferent songs on their guitars and harmonica's, to a clear sky mod? would be really cool. and i dont know if you are that experienced, but maybe you could already port some other weapon models to clear sky. oh and could you do a crosshair fix on the spas shotgun and the lr300? it really annoyes me. xD good modding, stalker.
If you haven't already, might I suggest joining the Oblivion Lost forum and GSC Game World. Activity here has gone down quite a bit in the last few weeks, and big mods like this always generate a lot of hype. Unfortunately not all of them get finished, and some don't even get a release.
More people spurring you on might give you that extra incentive to stick with it =p
Come to think of it, this place started to die down around the time we were told that no new versions of the OL mod were being released. Just shows you how popular a project like this can become.

To be honest, while this would be amusing, I don't see it as a priority right now... About the crosshairs, I don't know what you mean since I never play with one, but I'll try to inspect all this :) What I'm doing now is basically to finish including the hundreds and hundreds of (upgraded) weapons' entries into the game so that they can be traded, looted, etc, and in a balanced way preferably. And after this, like I said it above, I'll try to add my own touch to the spawn/respawn thing. When I'm done with both, then I'll release a first beta.

Thanks for your advice, but don't worry, lack of support or anything like that won't be a problem. Simply because I like what I'm doing and I'm doing it for my personnal amusement at first. If I can share it with some random members here, then that'll be fine, but again there's no need to worry about this :) The only goal I have aside from my own fun is to humbly try to make Clear Sky not to die too early... This game may have disapointed many people (including myself, in a way), its roots are still firmly tied to SOC's, specially when you see them from the modding scene. I mean, it's not like with UT3 where it's almost impossible to add back via modding some of the cool features from 2k4, if you know what I mean...
Whatever, I'll try to keep you informed on things I have done until the beta, and eventually collect some thoughts (also planning on modifying the artifacts btw... or add more dangerous anomalies to make some of them more useful!).
They have the guitar and jokes thing in a few russian mods. I think funny mod is one of them. They have artifact activation and stuff in there to.

As a counterpart, that weapon is now quite more powerful. -Much better textures for food, drinks, walls, woods, roads, ground, floors, briks, glasses, etc... -Weather is more varied, coherent, and visually amazing. -Many new and better sounds. -New weapons (4 new types of grenades, the Sturm Ruger GP100 and Mosin Nagant M1891/30 from the Gosuke mod, the Tec9 and Mac10 from the ARSENAL mod, the EM1 pistol, ÀÍ-94 Àbakan, and HK 417 Assault Rifle from CS Enhanced mod.) -New icons. -Some of the artefacts have been made much more useful ingame since they may give small protection bonuses against each of the new grenades. -You can now sprint carrying an exoskeleton armor. -For ambient purposes, certain mutants may now happen to eat corpses. -Stalkers are now a little less eager to push you away everytime. -Over ten new armors included. Most have completely new upgrade systems. -An incredible amount of upgraded items (weapons and armors) have been added to the game. You may get them by looting or buying them from traders or NPCs, or by finding them in stashes. -Each Stalker spawns with a random weapon. According to the faction and the rank, you will still detect some tendancies in certain people's commonly used weapons, but technically anyone may carry anything. I've given all the credits I could in the readme, I hope the authors will feel ok with this :) It's not finished yet as I have a few other items to add to the already huge list of upgraded weapons (which will be one of the last thing I'll be modding before the release). These weapons are here for ambient purpose, I mean, you won't get many of them during a game. However, if you play many games, then you clearly won't see the same weapons over and over. Note that, as it is mentionned in the feature list, you have 3 ways of discovering these upgraded weapons: trading (via traders, or NPCs), looting (Npc may carry them, either dead or alive), finding them in stashes (very rare). This is currently the biggest and more personnal feature The Warmongers mod has. It really adds a lot to the the game.
