When i installed your mod I had a fully upgraded MP5 in my inventory, do I need to upgrade it more now because of your mod? would that cause a crash?
Game works fine until I equip mp5 and shoot a few rounds... even has time to reload... after that game CTD.
Game also CTD from main menu if I click autosave in the load screen... even click it to see the file that would be loading.
Game loads fine from my quicksave (never experienced this autosave problem before!)
Edit: Using US retail version with latest patch in case your wondering :)
I also had to remove the scope thing I did, figured out from the start it didn't work (in case your wondering!)
If i'm using the codes from wpn_mp5.ltx and copied your changes into my wpn_mp5.ltx
then what files would I need (upgrades, or other .ltx's) would I need to edit to make sure it wouldn't crash? I mean DEFINITELY need... I looked at our actor.ltx's and system.ltx's for differences, looked through
I went to duty upgrader (I just found their base and saved) when I found the upgrader, I put MP5 on upgrade screen, and he doesn't upgrade mp5's... So I can't see there~
in configs/weapons/upgrades I only have your w_abakan_up, mp5, ak74u, ak74, and beretta
game crashes within 10-20 seconds AFTER and ONLY AFTER using/reloading/moving in inventory or putting on upgrade/trade screen - the MP5
I can run around, shoot things, open my inventory, talk to people... all the norm, but after using the MP5 or moving it in inventory it crashes shortly after
The autosave could be one of issues GSC was talking where it sometimes doesn't save all needed data. It was on their main forum. I have seen that happen before on both my machines and my friends. My current autosave works just fine though. And when I've seen the problem with it was even when I had no mods at all. A fully upgraded MP5 should also work without issue as I testing loading up in all sorts of situations. Like without an MP5, stock MP5, upgraded MP5. The first time I changed the needed properties to allow the MP5 to work as a pistol, I already had a fully upgraded MP5 in my inventory. The upgrades were then when I loaded up and weren't lost. Again all I changed for the upgrade file was the clip size upgrade. Which was correct on my already upgraded one when I loaded it. Even tested things like having friendly NPCs point at me after they had put their gun away. Got into firefights also for testing just to make sure the edit over to a pistol wouldn't effect the NPC some how. Is there a way you can load up try a similar situation as I just described to you? Don't use your quicksave for testing. Manually go out to Main Menu and save to a different file. (Not quicksave or autosave) EDIT: If you honestly think it is the MP5 file I edited. Remove that from your files, or rename it and even the upgrade file for MP5 as well. Then load up your game.
I'm not sure whats causing it, I loaded up a manual save from Yesterday, and game crashed after 2 minutes of playing.
Edit: Manual save from 1 day prior also has fully upgraded MP5
Do any of the files in the gamedata/textures folder need .ltx's besides the ui/ui_icon hud removal?
Were any of the weapon/item/armor ltx's included in your mod edited to follow new path to sound files? (I didn't install any sounds)
Well this can be a downside I suppose to having all these mods run together, but hey I can assure those viewing and checking this out that plenty of testing was done. The first I would like from you Edgar, as a good all around test. Just rename the following files that are in your gamedata folder. As this will turn them off and not load in the game anymore. This one here "gamedata\configs\text" rename the folder TEXT to say _TEXT And rename the files for the MP5 and MP5 upgrade in the same manor. Then load back up and it will use the games orignal files. Course my other mods will still be running, but I just need to confirm if your old MP5 from your other saved game works. In light of this I will do some more testing on it tonight. Mind you I have about 10 different saved games that have me at different points. With different weapons and such. As this way it's easier to test something I changed.
Really nice motha. This mod has everythng I wanted in vanilla STALKER. But can you tell me which files I need so I can get just these specific mods??
-flashlight range -real weapons name -improved sound -artifacts weigh only .01 kg -able to trade anything with every NPC -NV and mechanic fix -flash drive quest fix - realistic blood splatter.
Sorry I want to pick apart so many things but I already have the things I didn't list in vanilla stalker and I only wanted those things. So which files should I take apart to get those only?
I removed the mp5/beretta upgrade .ltx's from the upgrades folder (moved to desktop) same with mp5/beretta .ltx's from the weapons folder
game is running no problem now... must be something in one of those 4 .ltx's, what the crap could it be? I can equip/shoot/reload mp5. (especially now with files removed = no CTD) I didn't have a beretta in my inventory when I had those files to see if it would immediately crash if I equipped/used one.
I'm going to put those files back in their directories one at a time, and play/try different things in the game until it crashes. No crash, and I'll add another file, til I find the one causing it.
@ Soul Purifier Flashlight file is in:: gamedata/configs/models/objects/light_night.ltx Weapon names in:: gamedata/configs/text/eng/st_items_weapons.xml Better sounds in:: gamedata/sounds/weapons/ <-- sound files in this folder Artefacts file in:: gamedata/configs/misc/artefacts.ltx NPC Freetrade:: gamedata/configs/misc/trade_generic.ltx Mechanic fix:: gamedata/configs/gameplay/dialogs_darkvalley.xml Nightvision:: gamedata/configs/misc/outfit_upgrades/<-- ltx files in here Flash Drives:: gamedata/scripts/dialogs_marsh SCRIPT FILE Real Blood:: gamedata/textures wm and pfx folders, copy them as well
just copy those files/folders, and put them in the same order starting from your gamedata folder, going down into the other folders (configs/scripts etc.) and putting the files from those folders into your folders...
Or you can just delet what isn't mentioned as what you wanted from Bad-Motha's compilation, and just copy/paste that gamedata folder into your main stalker clear skies folder.
Yes Edgar has all those correct. Have fun with them Soul Purifier. Please remember the SVD Skin and sounds for the SVD has an owner. Along with those scopes, which has another owner. I loved them way too much to leave them out though :D I also like the Improved Arms skins and the 3 sets of sharper textures, all found on FileFront and they easily added 300MB for those, so I figure I'd leave them out as people who really want them will find them on their own.
I was playing with only the w_mp5_up in the weapons/upgrades folder and game crashed after playing 5 mins... removed it again, gonna try the w_mp5.ltx this time, then w_beretta_up, then w_beretta.ltx
@ EDGAR That would be very nice of you if you could figure out if it is one of those 4 files by trying one at a time. Again for the upgrade files all I changed was the clip size both the ## amount and the +## amount, changed MP5 to 20 and Beretta to 15. So I highly doubt it's those. But again myself nor my buddies who helped me test for the last few days, none of us seemed to have any issues. All 3 of us were using exactly what is included in this pack too, nothing more, nothing less. If turns out to be any of those 4. I do have the files here that only have the damage and accuracy settings. Before I tried making the Beretta full auto and the MP5 a pistol. I could revert to those and then go from there. Then just upload a small fix including just those files that need fixing. Incase anyone else has the same issues you've come across.
