I am going to edit the gameplay-files of Clear Sky. So that every Faction is useing their own weapons, like I did in SoC. But I dont know which I should give them... It should be like this Clear Sky - MP5 / Bm16/ Pmm Freedom - Sig550 / LR300 / Colt - accurate weapons Duty - Groza / G36 / USP - stong weapons Stalker - ??? / Fort - not the best but not bad Bandits - AK47 / ??? - same like Stalker Army - ??? / hpsa - well, Army kind weapons ecolog - L85 / walther - their good enough I think
as you can see I need your option for some ones. So Which should they get?
Duty - could still have AK and Akaban even if the army has them too, don't forget their ties with the army.. Stalker - mix of the others weapons, but none of the really powerful ones (so sniper rifle yes but SVD no) so stuff like mp5, winchester, aksu, l85, val, Bandits - more shotguns maybe? like the winchester, they're already pretty shotgun-crazy Army - Akaban and....Bulldog >B)
thanks for your quick reply. It helps to orient me, but I will wait a bit longer so that more people can tell me their wishes ;)
Do it by calibers.
Freedom gets 5.56x45mms, LR300, SG552, G36
Duty gets 9x36, VAL, VSS, Groza.
Army gets 7.62mm, AKs and Abakan.
bandits should get slingshots and stale bread.
Freedomers are NATO-lovers. It makes sense that they'd probably use such rifles, all up to the G36. IMO, it doesn't make sense for a G36 to be in Duty hands (especially since the G36 doesn't allow for a caliber upgrade swap to 5.45 rounds.) The sole exception would be the SVU, the newer Dragunov. Slightly weaker than the SVD but much faster firing, Freedom would have the slight edge over Duty from afar.
Duty by nature sticks to native Russian weaponry, so in preference they'd likely make use of the AK series, the Groza as a premium assault weapon, and the RG-6 as an essential field-sweeper. Their snipers could make use of the familiar SVD, tried and trustworthy.
Army's similar to Duty, but in addition to the AK series, they opt for the VAL over the Groza, as it is the assigned choice of Spetsnaz for covert missions. And as the Cordon base proudly features, the PKM. For explosives, though in short supply, the RPG-7 would be the Army's choice, for when things get really boned.
Duty tends to prefer spraying bullets to accurate fire, as denoted by the upgrades most of their Abakans have, and that their mechanic is the only one who can do the tier 3 ROF upgrade. Not to say they can't be accurate when needed to, but it's not their preferred tactic. Military treats their guys as meat plugs and although they're similarly armed to Duty, they rarely have upgrades on their guns and the indivudial non-Spetznaz soldier is pitifully equipped.
