Default scopes make me not like scopes.

I'm trying to use Gnomuss' high-resolution scopes from SoC (widescreen preferably)

So I tried to use them in CS with the vintorez I found in SWAMP (north of train tracks near bandits top of map)

It isn't working Here's a screenie of what it does? Why does it do this and how do I make it right?

I think everyone can benefit off of this (Especially when you can easily choose which scope goes on which guns :) its very nice to look at)

Oh thank god I wasn't the only one. When I try to use the ELCRAN scope for the NATO rifles, I get the same thing. From what I was seeing, it looked like the entire screen was magified about 4x, not just the area inside the scope, and I couldn't figure out with gamedata folder to edit. I hope someone comes up with an answer since you're right, Gnomus's scopes are beautiful and so much better than the stock garbage.

maybe its in the weapons.ltx , i can't be sure though, as the only files I have were downloaded from Stalker Files (easy start/real weapon names/ some other mods)

damn I was hoping this thread would be a solution haha. I had the same problem with another scope mod. I guess it's the weapons.ltx needs to me edited to change the resolution and positioning.

Hi guys, Glad to know you like my scopes. I am still trying to figure out how to solve the problem and have made progress but seem to have encountered two problems. Anything over 1024 square resolution is read from the upper right corner of the file causing the cutting off effect that you have posted in your image. I have a square version that almost works but you end up with a solid black pillors on either side. I suspect that version would work on a standard def monitor. I'll test this shortly. It appears to me that the scopes in CS may not support widescreen fully and or may be plugged into a shader or script to support the higher zoom modifications you can apply to some rifles. Not sure. Any info from more knowledgable modders would be appreciated. The default scopes are very aliased. If worst comes to worst I can release a version that is an all black screen with just the modded reticles in the center. This might be a good stand in until the problems are solved. Thanxs\Gnomus

I did look through the weapons ltx to see if I could find anything but know luck. If you know otherwise that would be great. I really got used to the way my scopes work and given how nice the graphics in CS are it needs nice scopes to match.:p

Good to see i'm not the only one interesting in finding a way to bring Gnomus' badass scopes into CS. 1440x900 here~

where are the default scope files located? maybe just a replace will do?

No that's been tried and resulted in the picture in the first post. So there is a little more going on in CS than just a texture replace.

OK I got them working. Some strange texture manipulation to get it to work correctly but the first two are done. PSOP and SUSAT. Check back at STALKERfiles shortly to see if they are up yet.
