All those realism mods for CS and many of them have some features which others don't and vice versa. If we want a mod which aims for total realism, here's this list -Pistols having iron sights -Silencers being tweaked -Deadlier weapon damage values and tweaked ammo values -More realistic ballistics and better accuracy (Let's use Tw33kR's mod!) -No Iron sight zoom -Better grenade shrapnel damage -"Silent" knife -Limited HUD and no minimap (and no beeping when near NPC's and mutant markers) -Can't "run" backwards -Improved faction wars and A-life -Use that CS horror mod -More realistic weather, darker night times -Tweaking the AI's vision, accuracy and reaction time (and all that) -Realistic scope reticules -Real weapon names -Swinging your gun around when sprinting (So you obviously can't fire) What more should I ask for? This is tiring!
Damn good list - I agree totally as there are some great 'blast em to hell' games but for me STALKER is all about a gritty, fearful 'get close to realism'. This game is pretty new so everyone's getting their bit's n pieces together - be patient. I would love to help work on this compilation but I think you'll find RastaKoueR is on a similar path with his realism mod compilation and I'd rather we all got together than had 10 different people coming out with 10 slight variations.
most of these mods turn stalker into halo.
I'll second everything on that list, with the possible exception of making the nights darker. I used the darker nights setting in SWO and, frankly, I think it's unfair. I wouldn't mind not being able to see shit if my enemies couldn't either, but I find myself being forced to hunker down for the night or (when that's not an option), turn the brightness all the way up just to survive. So, depending on just how bright CS's nights are, it'd probably be best just to make the nights a little darker.
The nights are pretty dark as it is. With no NV, on a pretty well lit night, or with an enemy between you and a light source, you can just about make figures out on the horizon.
As for the list, the only problem I see is AI tweaking. OL 1.3.3 played with AI detection, and while it made nights more fun to fight in, your enemies were more "deaf, blind & dumb" than simply having lower visability in darkness. That's why it was reverted back to default in 2.0 and onwards.
I'm sure it's possible to get right, but you'd need a lot of patience, and a good save right before a nighttime firefight.
Thought we had mods like this out already.............Im useing some myself like what he describes in his list.
Also can we change the guns so when you run (again can't fire) but so they are showing the guns 3D model across the screen (across the players' chest). You try running with an AK or SVD in real life like in CS and see how realistic it is. And the way they make you run with the MP5, looks like he's swinging a cock around while running, WTF!

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA donkey meat!
the only mods i use and think are necessary for "realism" are:
-no loading disk -no mini map (still beeps when enemies are nearby which is annoying) -all russian audio -crappy radio music disabled -pistol iron sights -less grenades from npcs
what i NEED is for NPCs not too see through walls/bushes/darkness (unless of course they have a suit that might have NVGs)
my TOZ-34 and BM-16 reload sound sync to be correct (this has actually distracted me so bad that i had to quit playing today)havent noticed any other weapons being off sync but i havent gotten very far in the game.
i see no need for and weapon accuracy or ballistic mods. the ones i have tried make the game too damn easy.
this so called horror mod thats out just looks like someone turned the fog up really high. whats so horrifying about that?
