I use to play a lot of elder scrolls to get that in your face hack and slash feeling. dark Messiah did it beater with the combat but not the scripted map lay out . for the most part fantasy games are ok , interesting at best . stalker brings the rpg aspect to a modern fps in a coherent way ( i think !), for god sakes no more scripted WWII games . " damn you saving privet ryan " so back to topic ... i had seen a mod for elder scrolls oblivion that was a full world map . more of a compilation of maps that were all connected to bridge the games . its my understanding that this is in no way possible with SSC and SCS. right ? do to code and engine versions . but it would be nice tho .. sorry ill finish what i was trying to say soon . my Realtor is calling

Without a full SDK and all the tools that GSC uses to make the maps, it would be impossible to fully combine all the map areas from both games into one game world.

Due to limitations of the engine, it is also impossible to make it a seamless world like GTA IV or Oblivion

so we kidnap the developers of oblivion , far cry 2 & stalker and say JUST DO IT DAMN-IT . YOU KNOW WHAT I WONT , STOP BEATING AROUND THE BUSH . may have to pick up the guys that make the Command and Conker seres too. to help base take overs & fortifications . btw any word on an sdk for CS ? the only map builders i got formilyer* with were Half Life 2 & unreal edd . and dabbled a bit in SSC gun moding god the lest thay can do is come up with an expansion pack !! id love to see the East cost line . just feels dirty the way thay presented SCS by opening up parts of the map that were not in SSC and still having SOME of the maps from SSC . i like both games but the main story line becomes static compared to what 1 "thinks" you should be able to do in game . stalker is not unlike elder scrolls in that its an adventure fps with survival & exploration concepts , only the weapons system is rpg . but the main map lay out contradicts thees aspects . having to travel between multiple zones to achieve personal objectives . making the flow of the game tedious . IE. "thanks for the help with the bandits but go all the way over hear to pick up your 500 bucks" which dos not even cover traveling expenses . ok so im not trying to complain hear , just looking for a way to increase the real estate of one of the 2 games . most zones are preity damn small in CS . exploration is minimal & survival is just dodging the red dots on your PDA map .

Now I have to ask, what is the name of that oblivion mod because that sounds really really cool.

I was thinking about checking it out on google earth, but I could never find it. That is pretty cool, thats the red forest to the east there. I was actually able to find the infamous ferris wheel in Pripyat.
